I've had nothing but problems from the "courtesy officer" -- he burst into my living room one afternoon claiming i was being beat up by my boyfriend and then had him arrested for battery of a police officer. my bf never hit me and never touched the officer. he had to spend a weekend in jail, and when we finally had our day in court it was all thrown out because he entered without a badge or ID and had no warrant or reason to believe his presence was warranted. the whole time he was there he was yelling at both of us and then kept screaming that he was having us evicted. he now makes a habit of pulling over our friends and telling them they're trespassing (since when am i not allowed guests in my own home'!) and he's going to arrest them if they don't leave the neighborhood. he also lurks in the parking lot outside our buildling in his squad car and slowly drives past. i never felt unsafe in the neighborhood until i met him, and now i carry mace because of him.
i spoke with two different staff people about the incident. one was understanding and offered to write up a complaint for us. the other staff person acted like this was all my fault and somehow i had caused the incident. the next week we had another police officer show up at our front door and told us someone had called in a noise complaint (even though there was no noise coming from our apartment).
i do like the car port i don't pay extra for, and the fact that the pet fee is one-time and not monthly. i also love having a washer and dryer in my apartment. i don't like the layout (the diag. wall completely throws off the furniture arrangemnt). i don't like that my carport is as far away as it can be from my apartment. i don't like how small my apartment is -- it's a good two feet shorter than the model we were shown. i also don't like that even if i DID want to live here another year with the ---- cop, i'd be paying $30 more in rent per month.
all in all i'd say the shortcomings far far outweigh the good things that this complex has to offer.

Wow, I just moved from there after living there for a year - I only saw the courtesy officer probably a total of 5 times and he never even talked to me. Maybe he only picks on certain people :)

Kind of funny that your boyfriend didnt do anything wrong but he went to jail for a weekend? Usually people get what people deserve and most people do not involve the police when they fight.

It's also kind of funny that the Fishers Police Department can force its way into your living room uninvited, without badge or ID or in uniform and claim that they were struck by a person that didn't touch them. I never called for police, and I do not know who did. In court ------------ was asked who tipped him off and all he could testify to was that he received an anonymous voicemail message. When there was a knock at my door and a --- pound man in a dirty ---- shirt and blue jeans started screaming that he was the police, given a choice I probably would've asked him to wait outside and called 911. Unfortunately I wasn't given that choice. I also would've liked it if when I had asked to see his badge and ID instead of hearing "NO, SIT THE **** DOWN WOMAN!"
And no, people don't usually get what they deserve. In my experience it's about half and half. I sure wish I lived in your world.
And the more I hear about this guy the more I find out what a dirty cop he is. I'm not the only person who has had major problems with him without asking for them or doing anything to deserve them.

Although I do not know the situation well, I totally agree with above opinion that you don't get what you deserve.
I take care of my wife with mental illness, and when she screams, some "kind" persons call 911. This happened twice in different places and I had to spend in jail in one occasion because I was upset and shouted back to the police who believed that I was abusing her. It sometimes happens to people, but you have to be smart about living with it or simply moves away from it when the cost of putting up becomes higher than the cost of relocation.

I was considering moving into this apartment complex until I read this warining about the cop. That is one reason I don't think I will move into the Fisher's area. I do not want to have to deal with these crooked and prejuduce cops. I went to visit my friend (lives in Fishers) last week. I was pulled over by a cop in the complex, because I did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign. First of all, there was no stop sign, it was a yield sign! They really need something better to do. I know they have too meet a quota but maybe they should go around and harass child molesters in their commmunity, instead of minority's.

I agree about the cop, or is he hired security? I lived there in 2007 for about 6 months, the first incident w the cop- my boyfriend has an older truck(kinda loud) he got pulled over for (loud pipes) & the cop was yelling at him, then the cop called for back up-2 more cop cars showed up, so ridiculous! The cop would constantly sit out in front of my apartment in his car, really creepy! I also had a friend that lived there in a differen't apartment & he locked himself out 1 night so he slept in his car, he had been drinking but he wasn't doin anything but sleeping, the cop dragged him out of his car & threw him on the ground-i would have sued! The last incident was why i moved, my friend & i were sleeping & woke up with that fata.. cop in my bedroom shining a light in my face, we forgot to lock the door & he thought it was ok to let himself in! He said someone called & said there was a disturbance, we were sleeping, what right does that give him to enter my apartment that i pay for?? I told the staff about it, but they pretty much laughed in my face, i wonder if it's because the manager is dating a cop, & the cops follow the staff home sometimes after they have been drinking, 1 of the girls told me that! I would never live there again!
