It is sooo bad that we had to break our lease!

At first glance, Lantern Woods looks like a wonderful place to live. There's always specials for your 1st year living there. My husband and I looked into Lantern Woods in the beginning of July. We took a tour and our jaws dropped at the floorplan. It was gorgeous and spacious. So, we go back and put a deposit down. The staff asked us which apartment we wanted and we picked it out. We decided to move in in 3 weeks.

One week before our move in, we get a phone call saying that our apartment isn't available anymore. There was a leak and it had to get fixed. I thought, "no big deal", we will get another one. It took them 4 days to get back to us with another available apartment-- JUST 3 DAYS UNTIL MOVE-IN! We should have known right then and there that it would be bad.

We move in August 1st. We sign the lease but they told us that there weren't any amenity keys left and that we would have to wait to get one. *the amenity key is for the car wash and fitness room* Also, since we never saw the apartment until the day of move-in we didn't know that the carpet had stains everywhere. Fortunatly, we had a lot of rugs so we just put them down. A couple weeks later... the neighbors from hel* move in above us. They won't be quiet. They just keep stomping around up there. I go to the office and try to see what I can do. They told me to fill out a anon. complaint. I swear they knew we did it because now they are louder than ever.

Fast forward to October. Still no amenity key. They keep telling us that we are on the list but when I look at the list, we are NOWHERE to be found. I told them that I want to give my 60 days notice to move out(our lease doesn't end until next Aug). They told me to write a letter stating that. So I did.

December rolls around. T-minus 20 days until move out. I call the office and ask for the EXACT amount that I would have to pay so that I can get it together. I also ask if I have to keep the electric on or if I can shut it off after I move out. The girl told me to give her my name and # and she will have someone call me. That was 1 week ago. I call back and the same thing. I have 2 weeks to go and I have no answers.

The office staff is not helpful what-so-ever. There is dog poop everywhere. The insulation sucks. You pay 3x the amount for electricity in the winter than the summer (and this is coming from someone who kept the thermostat at 68 degrees in the summer). Also, there is not enough parking for all of the residents.
