Good vs. Bad

Years at this apartment: 2007-01-01 - 2007-01-01
I have lived at Lantern Woods for about 3 months now and I wish I would
have read this website before I signed my lease.
So, I thought I would
help the next person out and write good honest reviews.
So, I will
start with the good things.
The apartments from the outside are gorgeous!!
Most beautiful apartments in the Northern part of Indy.
We have an
apartment with a wooded view over a pond and we didn't have to pay any
extra! I never hear traffic and the apartments are usually pretty quiet.
I
never hear my neighbors above me, occasionally I will hear a vacuumm
running or the washer/dryer running, but nothing major.
The in-house
washer/dryer is a huge plus! I cannot image going down to a laundry mat to
do my laundry! I actually like the cable.
Yes, its a mom and pop kinda
place, but its cheap ($30/month for basic cable) and I have never had
any problems with it! But as far as good things, that is about it...
Bad
things include the staff, maintenance, and cheaply built apartments.
The staff is terrible! The leasing agents may be some of the
dumbest people ever! They never could answer any of our questions, never
found the answers and didn't really seem to care.
The day we came to sign
the lease we looked through the apartment first and trash was thrown in
the cabinets, the fire alarm was beeping and our screen door didn't
work.
We told them that those needed to be fixed BEFORE we moved in...
Let
me tell you, it took at least a week to get all that stuff fixed.
And
when I realized the fire alarm was beeping, the office staff told us that we had
to fix that ourselves.
We ended up just getting a new battery for it
because we were tired of waiting for them to fix it!! The maintenance is
slow, my roommate and I have not taken a warm shower since we moved in
and everytime I go to the office to complain, they act like they have
never heard from me before!! The apartments are built cheaply, my shower
is cracked and things you can tell are cheap.
The pet fees are
outrageous! It's $400 non-refundable deposit PER ANIMAL, and if you move out of
the apartment your in now into another apartment in the complex, they
will charge you that $400 all over again!! It is absolutely ridiculous!
Other than that, I am pretty satisfied with the apartments.
If you can
handle putting up with bad staff, awful maintenance, and cheap
furnishings, then this place is for you!! Good luck!!
