Mostly good..

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
Overall, I would say my experience at Lantern Woods was a pleasant one. I lived here for 14 months during 2006-2007.
The Good:
- Actually got a 3 bedroom for cheaper than what was advertised- $995/month, regularly around $1100-1200. Occasionally they have some really good deals.
- Nice apartments overall. Good floorplans, nice room sizes, appliances, ect.
- Our maintanence issues were always fixed within a day or two of calling.
- The grounds were kept up very nicely.. salt was always put down for snow.
- Full size washer and dryer was very convenient.
The Not-So-Good:
- Our electric bills were pretty high- not energy efficient at all.. thin walls.
- The occasional "party apartment" would make parking very limited on some nights.
- We ended up owing a lot of money after we moved out- some of it I felt was justified, but they are very strict on the move out evaluation. They insisted the carpet be replaced in every room at (what I considered) a high price.
- $400 non-refundable pet deposit, plus monthly fee. $400! And any damage the pet does do (i.e, carpet stains) you'll be paying a high price for as well. Plust a 35 lb. weight limit might detour some.
The Bad:
- The office staff was like Jeckyl and Hyde. Half of them were decent, and I can think of 3 that were seemingly bipolar. Some days they would be extremely rude.. even if I was in to pick up a package or drop off rent.. not even making a complaint or request. My roommates agreed- you never really knew what type of treatment you would receive on a given day.
So overall- considering the location, the quality, the price.. these are good apartments. However, if any of the "bad" things I mentioned really matter to you, I would do more research.
