Summer can't come quick enough!!!

The office staff certainly leaves much to be desired! I've never encountered such rude, condescending, and overall disingenuous office staff in all my years or renting! I will say however, the previous manager ---- and current staff member ------- are both women of great attitude with a willingness to attend to their tenants needs in a friendly and professional manner! There is not much to share on the maintenance staff other than they seem to be friendly, but I rarely had a need for their services.
The apartments look deceptively nice from the inside and out, but they are quite poorly constructed - as is the poorly designed parking layout. It is amazing what a little textured wall application and "creative" construction can do! Nearly everything in my apartment is out of plumb; which could likely explain all the loud creaking and popping of beams I hear constantly. Not to mention the obnoxious sound of pipes expanding and contracting between the walls every time someone turns on their water. And the WATER, two words - absolutely disgusting!
Had the property owner perhaps spent an extra buck here and there coating the sub-flooring with a thin layer of concrete, making use of more sound batt insulation, or perhaps even used higher quality materials in general - the floor to floor and wall to wall noise would be far less than it currently is. The electrical could use some serious looking into - power surges are quite regular in frequency, as are temporary outages.
And if one is lucky enough to find themselves blessed with neighbors who have (and to quote a previous tenant review) "any semblance of decorum and respect for the fact that others are also living in the same building" - that would be a great start! Where do these people come from? Some peace and quiet for instance - for those of use who work and study hard would be lovely?! So for those of you who like quiet living - forget about voicing numerous noise complaints to anyone - it simply falls on deaf ears! I'd like to see the not so understanding office staff live surrounded by the neighbors I've had to tolerate the past year and a half! What normal person does their laundry at 1:00am, plays handball in the corridors, and has their surround sound system on full blast all hours of the night during the work week?!
As for the complex pet owners - they rarely, if ever, pick up their pet's waste. So watch your step - grass, sidewalk, and parking lots alike! And those of you with children - think twice, this isn't exactly a child-friendly complex. Although the staff will make every attempt to have you think otherwise. Some tenants have a high disregard for children and others, and tend to drive fast and careless throughout the complex. Can people truly be that ignorant and blatantly disrespectful of others? Oh yes - they can and are permitted to continue their disregard at Lantern Woods without being told otherwise!
Oh and dare I fail to mention the "little" rental rate increase of 10% after one year of having lived there. I thought I was living in Indiana, not NY!! Oh wait, has someone declared Fishers and Carmel the new Upper East Side?! If one pays an insane amount of rent to live somewhere - would one not expect the title of "luxury living" to have some truth to it?
