I have been living at Lantern Woods now for over 2 years. I have gone from a single bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment with a roommate, so I have been in 2 formats of apartments here. I have lived in the second floor and now live on the first floor.

I have a very hard time understanding why people have such negative things to say about Lantern Woods, because my experience has been great. The property is maintained well in warmer months and the streets are taken care of regularly during the winter months. The amenities are nice and the pool and hottub BOTH work at the main clubhouse. Yes, there was a time when the hottub didn't work, but just like people, things change here too. In fact, the new property manager Courtney seems to be doing a fine job.

The staff at Lantern Woods can be consumed by a very busy day sometimes and come off as if they are in a hurry, however, this does not change the fact that they are getting their work done and making sure the existing residents are taken care of. I would want them working hard for me too.

Lantern Woods offers a great price, and while property values rise in this area, the rent has remained pretty low and affordable for the quality Lantern Woods offers. Are their nicer apartment complexes on the north side of Indy...' Yes. But you will pay their premium. Lantern Woods is a great place because it remains affordable and it is in the middle of EVERYTHING. I can drive 1 mile up the road and be at a 24-hour StarBucks! I can drive 2 minutes down the road and be at a 24 hour Kinkos, Wal-Mart, Meijer, and everything.

Not than I drink too much or anything, but getting home from the bars can be relatively easy compared to the Carmel apartment complexes. Just hop onto 465 from Broad Ripple, get off on 69-North, and you're home safe and without much hassle from the Fishers Police, who are a great department by the way. Carmel doesn't offer the luxury of getting onto a highway and requires many back-routes to avoid police problems, especially after a few drinks.

The Lantern Woods location is safe because there are so many people here, someone would be an idiot to commit a crime in this place no matter what time it is... and the fact that it is in Fishers is another plus. The police here in this town are fast, friendly, and there when you need them. They have a few on-site officers with marked cars too. Personally, I have never heard of a crime committed here.

The apartments are not sound-proof. Yes, you can hear your neighbors when they decide to jump on the bed or play loud music with a bunch of bass. Yes, you may hear a dog barking if someone has one. Yes, young people do live in Lantern Woods, but they are all very classy people when approached with reason. I cannot think of a single apartment complex in the world that offers sound-proof living. To me, that is considered a HOUSE. If you don't want a house or don't want the hassle of living in a house, then you are going to have to put up with neighbors and the noises they make wherever you go. I recommend meeting the neighbors and letting them know you're cool with them, and vise versa. That way, everyone has an understanding and respect is given.

Parking... seems to be the one justified concern I have seen on this website. However, if you are here during the day, parking is readily available everywhere. After rush-hour, you will notice that you have to park a bit further away as the day goes on. This is normal as well. There can only be so many "front-row spots". You will NEVER be forced to park more than a few meters away from the entrance to any building here. There are more parking spots than there can be residents, so parking really isn't a problem... it just depends on how far away you might have to park.

The office staff, yes... things have changed people. Some of the reviews seem to be built on old news. Have some of these people even VISITED the office other than to drop off a rent check' Probably not. The office is FULLY aware of what people have to say on this site, and they are working very hard at changing that. If you want the office staff to pamper you with lavish gifts, then go somewhere else. They are here to help you sign a lease and show you around. When they aren't doing that, they are working for the rest of us who already live here.

Maintenance... I make a call to the office, if it's urgent, it gets done immediately. If it's something that is important, it gets done the same day. If it is something small or little, it gets done within 24-48 hours. I have never had many major issues, but when I get small requests, they were taken care of quickly and to my satisfaction.

I hope this provides a bit more insight into what Lantern Woods is all about.

Go check it out for yourself before you read some disgruntled reviews on here. The negative reviews account for a small percentage of us.

Hmmm...Something tells me if you were a woman living there, you would not be so quick to rate Lantern Woods with such high marks.

I'm not quite clear on what that is supposed to mean? My friend Jennifer has lived here for a while now and she likes this place as much as I do.
