I've read some of the other reviews and found them to be a bit exaggerated and perhaps unfair. Regarding the outdoor grills, Indiana law prohibits all but electric outdoor grills on patios and decks in apartment buildings. I can understand why too. I'm on the 3rd floor. The first floor has a cement patio, but 2nd and 3rd are wood decks. I just happened to be out on my deck one evening when the guy below me lit off his charcoal grill. I thought my toes were going to get singed any second. It's lunacy to allow any combustion cooking appliance below or on a wood deck in an apartment building. Yes there are wood burning fireplaces inside, but it s much harder to have that get out of control and above all, it s a legal device. They have also indicated they plan to build a common area with grills on the grounds for use by all tenants. That might even be ready when it s IN SEASON again. As far as not knowing the place was on the market' You don't have to be a genius to figure that out when there were survey markers all over the grounds starting sometime this summer. All I did was ask the prior staff and they confirmed that the previous owners were seeking a buyer. I am disappointed they have closed the fitness and gym room, but they told us they are planning to remodel and expand it. Noise has never been much of a problem except for the two small dogs that live below me, but I only hear them during the day when their owners are not here. Parking is tight and a we were forced to rent a car port at $30.00 a month because my wife does not get home until very late. It seems there is enough parking, it s just not free. I m going to give the new managers the benefit of the doubt and see how they perform before judging to harshly. The prior staff was great, so the bar has been set pretty high. If they really stink, I ll be back to modify this. Right now based on my experiences up to the sale, I have few complaints. It s up the new staff now to sink or swim. As has been said, there are other apartments available in the area.

Obviously this person is from the new management team trying to defend their own ineptness. Don't rent from here.

This is someone that works there. I don't feel that at a high price for rent each month, that we should also have to pay for parking. Give me a break, the idiots just want money, and they want it now.

I think they are just trying to make the propery nicer! I'm glad they took away the grills and are making people get rid of the crap on the patios! I hate coming home and seeing all this stuff on everyones patio. The parking is free! You can't have a garage or carport for free! That wouldn't be fair for the people that are paying for them. I glad someone is getting in here and changing things for the better!

This is absurd. Clearly, this person is someone that works at this joke of an apartment complex, wasting time trying to save its reputation. Here's a tip: no matter how hard you try, you're still going to be outnumbered. Too many people have caught on and know what it's really like living here. Give it up, already!

You morons, I'm the writer of the original post. I don't work at Sand Creek Woods. I do live there and I AM renewing my lease. Why? Because I've checked around and my particular apartment is cheap when compared to similar apartments at other area complexes. My rent is only going up $15.00 a month. That doesn't equal the cost and hassle of moving. I'm a computer programmer. I tend to look at the numbers. If you can get a better deal on rent in a comparable apartment with better facilities, services and staff, then you should move. I would if I found such a place. I thought my review was "Fair and Balanced", to borrow a phrase. I'm not happy with everything, especially the shortened office hours and the fact that they're closed on weekends. I had a roof leak (now you know I'm on the 3rd floor) and while they did fix it in a reasonable amount of time, they should have done a better job of communicating. I had to ask several times what they were doing and when it was going to be done. Listen, Tony, Angel and the JC Hart staff were great! I loved Tony. He gave me a TV! However, they are gone and they're not coming back. The new owners will get the message, so if you don't like it here, then please get out, because that will send the message loud and clear that they need to improve. Those of us who remain will benefit from your actions. Free markets work!
