My husband and I just recently moved out. When we signed the lease and moved it, we were told that our pet deposit was fully refundable, that we had new carpet and a newly remodeled apartment. When we moved in, the leasing agent realized the carpet was not brand new. There were several stains. She began marking it on the sheet, then said "you know what, don't worry about the carpet because we will be getting new carpet after you move out." When we moved out, I just called about our deposit. It has been nearly 45 days and we had not heard from them at all!! Elaina told me that we would not get a deposit back at all because of the carpet stains. She also told me the pet deposit was only $100 and the other $100 was non-refundable. I explained that my lease agreement says otherwise, and she told me that it doesn't matter what the lease says. Apparently they just go by a ledger!!
We have never caused any problems with any of our landlords. We pay rent on time and sometimes ahead of time. We've never had any complaints. But I would NEVER EVER go with Sand Creek Woods again!
