Management is unethical and deceptive.

Be very careful of the onsite staff. I placed a deposit with them when I applied for residency and they will not return the funds even though the leasing agent specifically told me twice that the money was refunable, without exception.

A point of clarification. Our application states that you may cancell within 72 hours and your deposit will be refunded. THis individual leased an apartment with us on 2/1 and cancelled 3 weeks later. These slanderous comments are unwarranted.

Still, he never moved in. You should give him his money back.

One thing I've noticed about the Woods of Britton staff (and I have several friends that have lived here who will agree with me on this). They are VERY friendly to you when they think they can get something out of you, such as signing a lease or renewing. Once you tell them you're either no longer interested or not renewing, you're like scum to them.

Wow, I wish I lived in a world where I can enter into a contractual agreement, break it, then expect to suffer no consequences for my actions. Regardless of whether he moved in or not, he signed a lease agreement which meant the apartment was taken OFF the market. He then canceled, which meant that he has cheated the management company out of their income. His deposit was conditional on the terms of canceling with 3 days of applying. I challenge you to go to ANY apartment community, sign a lease agreement, and then wait almost a month later to cancel and then see if you will get your money back. Hell, some apartment communities would sue for the balance of the lease. And in response to WofB2007, I've lived here since 2004. I had a house built by C.P. Morgan and was supposed to have moved there in June. Then our lender changed the loan terms due to the market crash and we were left without our pre-approval and the loan we were set to get could not be matched by any other lenders so we lost the house. During this time, WoB had already rented our apartment we were set to vacate and, upon hearing our situation, managed to not only buy us more time to get our affairs in order (we stayed in the apartment for 2 more weeks while we scrambled to find a place to move to), but also ultimately got us into a 2-bedroom/loft apartment that had just become available. They took care of us when no one else would. Treat people leaving like scum? Hardly. As far as they were concerned, whether it was May 14th or June 7th, we were no longer going to be their tenants....yet they still offered us as much help as possible...even to the point that they contacted us to let us know that something had just come available. Was it greed? Perhaps. But still, we weren't contractually obligated with them anymore. They weren't set to collect a new, large deposit or app fees from us. And we are forever grateful for them to have helped us like they did. This is by far the best apartment community I have ever lived it. EVER!!!!
