Ants, Ants, Ants and yes, more Ants

Staff at Wellington Place is always curteous and professional. Unfortunately, they are powerless. I have a slab ant colony in my townhouse. Short definition: millions of ants live in the slab of my unit. They come into the apartment for a visit by the thousands whenever I cook, light a candle, or spray sweet-scented air freshener or perfume. I can eliminate the use of the last 3 items, but going without food is not an option. I have a one-year-old baby and have been dealing with this problem since the inception of my lease (4 months). The solution of the exterminator that is contracted by Wellington Place is to leave the ants alone when I see them and let them take the poison from the bait traps that he set out, back to the slab. How long will it take for the problem to be rectified' About 12 months says Mr. Exterminator. Meanwhile, I have to live with thousands of ants in my unit. Wellington Place's solution: move to another unit,at my expense of course, or take a $100 credit for my inconvenience. Wow! So I get to pay $600 again to move all of my belongings. I've invested time and money in upgrading paint, fixtures etc; I have to change my phone, address, utilities(pay disconnect and reconnect fees)and they think that my troubles are only worth $100. You be the judge. Would you be satisfied with either of these options' Imagine having to clean ants several times a week before and after cooking while taking care of an infant simultaneously. Imagine waking up to ants crawling all over your dresser, in the drawers and up the walls simply because you lit a candle. Would you not agree that $100 is an insult' Would I recommend Wellington Place to anyone else' Based on the condition of my unit-ABSOLUTELY NOT! I get all this hassle while Hills Communities collects nearly $1100 a month from me in rent for their "luxury apartment". I know people who live in 30 year-old apartments in the inner-city who pay only $400-$500 a month and have never seen a single insect. Again, I can't say enough how kind the staff is on the phone. I do, wonder, often times what they say behind your back, but that's another story. I hope that someone who is trying to decide whether or not to move into Wellington Place will be educated and informed and take more precautions than I did to ensure that they receive a satisfactory apartment.
Also know that the ant problem is just one of several that I've had with my unit.

I have lived in tons of apartments as well as homes. I know that the ant traps are worthless. Try a good old fashioned can of Raid. Your can also buy super industrial strength pesticide to spray. Just be sure and leave right after you do it. I would take their offer of $100. buy the pesticide and go from there.
