My mother lived here for quite sometime. She was very happy for a long time until after they did a remodel and changed management. After that, she constantly had trouble with neighbors fighting, loud music, throwing trash on her patio, kids running around everywhere. Management was not very responsive. She also had a lot of trouble with water leaks from upstairs. It caused her a lot of headaches. Her dishwasher and toilet leaked several times and caused a big mess. Tile in the kitchen and bathroom was always coming up. Parking was bad. A lot of people had many cars and they all wanted to park in front of the building. They even parked in the handicap spots when they're not supposed to. Again, management was not very responsive. They just said that parking was first come first serve. She was very happy to leave. At one time I was going to move in here and I'm glad that I did not.

From the Ashmore Trace Property Manager: First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank your mother for living here at Ashmore Trace for 11 years. In addition, I would like to let you know that Ashmore Trace, formerly known as Carriage House Greenwood, has been owned and managed by the Gene B Glick Management Company since its original construction. The property did however; go through a renovation in 2003. Part of that renovation included converting our community from a subsidy property to a market rate community. As a market rate community, there are many more residents going back and forth to work, and running errands in their time off. The change from a community where many residents did not work to one where the majority of residents work, and the hustle and bustle this creates, was difficult for some residents to accept. As far as people parking in handicap spots, this unfortunately happens everywhere. We try our best to ensure that only authorized vehicles park in these designated spots and we do tag vehicles that are parked in these spots without proper documentation showing. We take great pride in our community and always try to provide the highest level of service at all times. Sincerely, Kathy Cross, Property Manager, (317) 882-1547.

I lived there in 2001-2002. I left during the renovation. I was given the opportunity to move but only 3 days to pack and be moved. There was no way I could do that. I think the manager saying that they were a community where no one worked prior to being market rate is insulting and wrong. I for one, and MANY other if not the majority of the tenants worked, we were just single parents who couldn't make enough money to afford full rent. Secondly you were not the manager in 2001 so management DID change. Ownership didn't but management did. I am trying to find an old friend who lived there, is it possible to find out if they still do? Thank YOu!

You aren't alone! They did this to many people! They even made some people stay in their townhomes while work was being done and move their stuff into storage pods! And yes, management did change! This manager making that comment about people is par for the course! Yes, there were many people who did not work. They were retired, disabled, low income, or whatever. The change was difficult for residents to accept because of the way it was done! And no, you can not find out if a friend still lives there! They will not tell you anything!

You aren't alone! Many people left! People found it difficult because of the way it was all handled! I, too, feel the comment was insulting! Many of the people were elderly and disabled. Making such a comment is terrible! And yes, management did change! For the worse! Good luck finding your friend because they sure won't tell you anything!
