I've lived here for over 2 years and I love it. The only reason I'm leaving is because they don't have any over-sized one bedrooms up to lease and the regular one bedroom layout just isn't what I need.

The place is really quiet. I feel like I'm so loud sometimes, but I've never had a complaint. I never heard my old neighbor, but my new ones have a child and when it gets upset I can vaguely here it. The storage is amazing-A . You have more than enough room with the two bedrooms. The patio is screened in so hardly any bugs, some still manage to get in. There are lots of bugs outside because of the lake but very few travel inside and they have dates they spray if you call and request it. The cabinets are nice, but you have just enough space and it'd be nice if there was a door to the washer dryer area. Maintenance is always quick and does the job within a day. There is plenty of parking. Every apt could have their cars and guests and there would still be spaces in front of your building. Snow removal is always done, there's always salt on the stairs. The workout room is nice, not huge but its alright. The pool is a decent size, it was busy all last summer but I think that is because people broke the rules and had too many guests over. You're surrounded by neighborhoods so you feel like you're living in an addition not just stuck in the middle somewhere. It's very convenient to everything, yet away from it all.

My only big complaint would be the utilities; you pay for gas, cable, internet, phone, electric, and water. The water bill is with a company in Florida and its 15-25 a month, but if you're late the late fee is 13.99. That's ridiculous. Also, the only thing gas, if I'm correct is the water heater, yet I've had $90 gas bills before. That's not fun.

Also, the staff used to be rude, but I've only seen one girl in there lately and she's really nice. The staff also sticks to their rules, which is really nice when problems arise.

I am the manager at Barton Farms and want to thank you very much for the review. We strive to make sure all of our residents and guests are happy and live in a clean and friendly community! Just a few comments - with the gas, the water heaters and the furnaces are gas which is probably why the bills were higher in the winter months - especially with the way natural gas prices were inflated this past year. Our staff has been the same for almost 4 years now, so I apologize that you ever had a problem with rudeness - but the girls in the office and the maintenance team are the best around =) Thanks again for the review and we wish you luck in the future! I notice that Jennifer takes the time to respond to the great comments on the staff but if you notice there are more complaints about the staff being rude than there is about them being nice, that must be why you comment on the good one. There are to many bad comment to get on it right!
