I moved into Barton Farms in June of 2008 and really like it here. I live in one of the duplexes, kind of like a little house without all the yard work. I have had to have maintenance come out for my washing machine "walking" and they got it taken care of right away for me. Some people have said things about the staff being rude but I haven't experienced that from them, always been friendly to me and my family. We are nice to them and they are nice to us. That's just how you treat people. We have a little old lady who lives next door to us and the most we've ever heard from her was the occassional tv noise but that's only been if we don't have anything on in our home. The gargage was a big bonus in my opinion since I hate to have to scrape my car when it frosts and snows. The yard is nice too. We planted some flowers by the front window and made it look pretty and to make it our own but the really great thing is we still have our Saturday morning to do what we want since my husband doesn't have to cut the grass. Barton Farms is a really nice place to live and it's cheaper than a mortgage payment and we don't have to fix anything.

I know someone who pays $20 less a month to own a 3 bedroom house that is 900 square feet bigger than the 2 bdrm large duplex Barton Farms offers...so while it may be cheaper for you to rent, that is not the case for many others. As for your "that's how you treat people" comment- are you suggesting other people are who have complained about the rude staff did not treat the staff with respect?? Because that is simply not the case. Also everyone SEEMS nice at first and many people can not tell when someone is being fake. It's sad really. Go to them with a real problem- be nice about it. See how "nice" they are.

I agree with the Madysmomma. We also live here in a Barton Farms duplex. We love it also. The maintenance crew here are gems!. I've always been afraid of renting, but since we've been here, we've changed our tunes!!

I agree with Madysmomma also. We have lived in our little place for a year now. We love it also. Those maintenance guys are a treasure! Hurray for them! Everytime I have had an issue, it has been taken care of that day! The gals in the office are wonderful! They have always been kind and respectful to us. We were afraid of renting also, have had our home for 30 years. But, the times have forced us to sell. But, I really think we've found a home for ourselves here. Our neighbors are wonderful. We have had no noise issues so far.
