you can't get out of your lease, they wont do that for anyone. you signed a LEGAL CONTRACT and you will be held responsible for the full amount that you signed for, whether you are buying a home or not. my friends moved out last summer after living in their apartment for 7 months because they bought a home for the first time and had to pay the balance left on their lease, and any other fees that are stated in your lease agreement for when you break a lease. The apartment staff and their owners are wonderful people, and are always nice to everyone. but like i said you signed a LEGAL CONTRACT stating that you would pay for your apartment for a set amount of time, therefore you are resposible for the total amount due that you agreed to pay, no matter what happens, whether you loose your job, buy a home, build a home, or even if your forced to serve in the war or move half way across the country. THEY WILL NOT BREAK THE RULES FOR ANYONE, no apartment complex, or leasing company would. would you expect your mortgage company to break your mortgage?

I disagree with the posts above- every contract has loopholes...a good attorney could get you out of this....or if they have not lived up to their end of the contract somehow you have grounds to break it- also some apartments will work with you despite the contract if you plead your case. DO NOT get discouraged or give up.

I support what Anonymous has said. No matter what your realtor has told you, there is NO clause that states you can break your lease without termination fees. The only way you can is if you are in the military & are placed in another area. Sorry for your luck sweety, but you should have done your research ahead of time or be prepared to pay the termination fees.
