I moved into this community in May of 2006 and, when I moved in, all was well. However, since then I have realized several flaws. Firstly, I live on the first floor of a 2 bed, 2 bath unit and I have had 4 neighbors move in and out above me. Two of them have had children and it is VERY LOUD! It sounds like a jackhammer hitting the floor when the kids run around (which is usually from about 5 or 6 PM until almost midnight... yes MIDNIGHT!) I had to complain time and time again the first time to get the people moved. When I banged on the ceiling to try to get the people to quiet down, they filed a complaint against me for being loud.. WHAT! I was then told the manager would make sure no kids moved in above me again. However, they recently moved a family with children in above me again... give me a break. This child is even louder than the previous and the parents do nothing to stop the noise.
The appliances are very old, inefficient, and the heat cost me almost $130 in electric over the winter months. Additionally, bugs are horrible during the summer months because the windows and slider have no insulation in them and then can just walk right in.
Overall, I say spend the money and get a better apartment if you can. The only redeeming factor about this place is the assistant manager, Mary Jo. She is always very helpful and pleasant to talk to. If it wasn't for her, I would have defaulted on my lease and left months ago.
** EDIT - May 24, 2007 ** Since writing this review, things have gotten a little better. The second issue with the noisy child was resolved and that helps the noise issue a lot. I would still issue a strong word of caution to anyone who is concerened with noise as it really carries. At least the management took care of my particular noise issue and I have to commend them for that.
