Unethical - New Mgmt DOES not honor old agreements

We were long time residents at Mission Hills Village (5/97-3/04).
In 12/03, we contacted the office and requested that our FINAL lease be a 3 mo. lease.
We were verbally told that a 30 days notice was suffice for a 3 mo. lease. We signed a move-out form along with our lease in 12/03. We were told that a copy of our lease along with a copy of the notice would be left for us outside our apartment. We never got it. We were told that the signed copies were ?lost?. We were asked to sign another copy and did so on Jan 9.
On Feb 26, we reminded the property manager of our move date. We were asked to provide another move-out form since the original was ?lost?. We did so on Mar 1. We were told that a signed copy of the move-out form would be sent to us and getting our deposit back would not be an issue since the office had lost the original. This was never done.
We handed the keys to Candy on the Mar 26; she re-iterated that we would get our deposit back. When we contacted the office in middle of June (after repeated requests in April and May), we were rudely told by the new property manager that we would NOT be getting our check since we had not provided a 60 days notice. She also threatened to ruin our credit history if we did not pay up !! We are taking this issue to court.
This was contrary to promises by the previous management.
