I have to agree with one of the other reviewers, take a video camera to do the before and after walk through inspections! The whole apartment was dirty when I moved in. I spent about three days just getting it clean. Made sure I cleaned it after I moved out, but they said there was a "black mark" on the carpet after I had moved out and moved out of town. They then sent me a bill for $35 for the "black mark" and for taking the pictures. This was completely illegal since it was over six months since I'd moved out and I even left them a forwarding address. When I contacted the home office about this and advised them of the state law in ref. to sending any bills/refunds to renter within 45 days of moveout, was told "It will be taken care of, disregard the bill". Then, I get a notice in the mail from a collection agency for the $35!!!! Paid it since it wasn't worth fighting in court...would have cost more money than it was worth. The funny thing is, when I moved in I was told that "This apartment hasn't been remodled yet, you are the last to rent it before it gets remodled. We are just going to rip out the carpet and cabinets when you move out" What a LIE!!! Management was great when I first moved in, then after I signed the lease things turned ugly. First, they lie when they say the electric will be only about $50-$60 per month. I had a lower level 1br apt. and the cheapest I paid was $78 and that was with the thermostat set at 68 degrees. Apt. was drafty. Washer/Dryer were disgusting, meth lab in apartment upstairs got busted just to have another one take it's place. Lots of break ins and vandilism to vehicles. Maintainence was very poor, couldn't even figure out why a hot water heater wasn't working for three days! Claimed that if you either e-mailed or faxed a work request in they would address the problem within 24hrs or you got $25 off the next month's rent. Another LIE!! Never seen the maintainence people for a week, and they claim they were there when I was gone so they didn't have to deduct the $25. This place has lots of issues, security (lots of gang activity and drugs), loud parties, vandils, and lots of management lies. I'd NEVER recommend renting here to anyone!!!
