YOU WOULD BE STUPID TO RENT HERE! From: jmillay@indiana.edu Date posted: 8/9/2007 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007   THIS Apt. will do anything they can to over charge you not to mention a hand full of other problems. First off, the Apt. Staff could really care less about you as a tenant. If you have a problem, good luck getting someone to take care of it with in a timely matter. My lease began Aug 15th 0f 06, during the winter months our furnace failed on a routinely basis and it took better then a week to have it fixed. I had a a difference of opinion with the utilities. They tried to over charge us and double pay them even though my roommate and I were already sending payments to duke energy. I fought for over a month before they would drop the unneccessary charges. Ok, it even gets worse. Finally after moving out in May of 07, i do a walk through with the maintainence inspector. He tells me, everything looks good, I don't for see you being charges with anything. So I thought! Well, as of 2 weeks ago. I get a nice little letter. SMOKE DAMAGE and CARPET DAMAGE. $289.00. So i contest the charges indicated in the letter. I take the letter to Emily the head mngr. She dropps $201.00 off the bill, which were the smoke damages. Tried to accuse my roommate and I of smoking when niether of us did. As for the 78 dollar charge for carpet we had no choice but to pay. My roommate dropped a check off in their drop box. Now they are denying they got it and they refuse to give us a reciept just because we didn't request one in person when we dropped it off. Several several calls have been made and no one over there cares to call us back. Not a very smooth thing for future residence. Ok, well, I have yet to get a receipt for my roommates check or he does for that matter. Ok, well I had changed my address once moving out of that god awful place, but my cell phone provider had sent a cell battery over there for my phone. instead of sending it back since i didn't live there, via fex ex, they held on to it and were too lazy to give it back to fex ex. So i had to pay for something i would have never recieved had i not gone over there a bunch of times to complain about my bogus move out charges. By the way they were never able to provide adiquite proof that there were stains anywhere. I think they make stuff up and try to mess people over. I have nothing good to say and EDWARD ROSE leaseing company is a joke as a whole. I've heard complaints from 2-3 of his apt. communities. If you have to spend an extra 100 dollars a mo. for better service so be it. It'll be worth it in the end.
