WELL, I'D HAVE TO SAY THAT BEING AN EMPLOYEE AND SUPERVISOR OF THE MANSARDS COURTESY PATROL AND A FORMER RESIDENT OF THE SOUTH MANSARDS. YOU CAN TAKE IT FROM ME IF YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE LIVING AT THIS ONCE BRAGGED ABOUT APARTMENT COMMUNITY.

IF YOU WANT TO LIVE HERE, I HOPE YOU'RE INTO DRUG USE, LOUD BASS THUMPING MUSIC AND ASSOCIATED WITH A NOTORIOUS CHICAGO / GARY GANG. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL FIT IN AND APPRECIATE LIVING AT THE MANSARDS. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT THE WALLS AREN'T SOUNDPROOF, AND YOUR NEIGHBORS OR THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF YOUR BUILDING IS THUMPING THEIR FAVORITE RAP MUSIC AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING. AT TIMES, YOU CAN EVEN GET A HIGH OFF OF THE 2ND HAND SMOKE YOUR NEIGHBORS ARE PRODUCING AT THEIR "GANGSTA" PARTY. MY EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD LIVING AT THE MANSARDS WAS HORRIBLE AND I WOULDN'T WISH IT UPON ANYBODY. IT'S SO BAD THAT I MOVED TO HAMMOND FOR A BETTER LIFE.

IF YOU ASK ME WHAT AND WHY IS THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THIS COMPLEX, I CAN'T BLAME IT ALL ON THE 85% OF THE APARTMENT POPULATION THAT LIVES ON SECTION 8 WHO STILL HAVE ILINOIS LICENSE PLATES, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE LIVED THERE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, EVEN YEARS. SOMETIMES I THINK I'M IN HARVEY, OR EVEN CHICAGO WITH THE MASS OF ILLINIOS REGISTERED VEHICLES PARKED THROUGHOUT THE COMPLEX. THE MAIN CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM IS THE MANAGEMENT THAT THEY HAVE HERE AT THE MANSARDS. EVER SINCE THEY HIRED THIS NEW MANAGER, SHE HAS MADE EVERYTHING GO DOWN HILL. PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH GIVE IT A SERIOUS THOUGHT BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO MOVE HERE!

I appreciate all of the honesty voiced here. I am glad I ran across this site. I am transfering from Kansas City and thought this sounded like a great place and they would take my dogs (for a price). I will be looking elsewhere since reading these reviews.

I've lived in northwest indiana for 10 years and only heard good things about the complex. Obviously, you would complain about anywhere and can't be satisfied. No place is perfect, but it's a heck of alot better than most places near big cities. Obviously, you have never lived anywhere remotely dangerous or around other people, or you would know how much you're exaggerating. Live somewhere really bad before you throw stones at an average place - the Mansards is like any place in this area. You want better? Move to Greenwich Village. Otherwise, it's like that all over the country. People, take a tour or visit for yourselves. Don't base your review on one disgruntled citizen who probably just didn't get his way.

I saw the Mansards website and the complex looked great. However, after reading the reviews, I decided that the apartment I live at is at least a million times better than the Mansards. Thanks to the reviews I no longer complain about my apartment even though it isn't perfect.
