If it wasn't for the kind of people...

My husband and I went to go look at these apartments a few weeks ago. We ultimately decided NOT to live there. First of all, the apartment we were shown was very nice. We loved it. I loved the walk in closet, and storage areas in the bathroom/living room. The balcony was huge, and overall, the actual apartment was perfect in regards to what we were looking for. I also liked that it was very close to a Metra South Shore station - 10 minutes away at the most. BUT-there is now way in hell I would feel safe living here. It was so LOUD and even though it was February, there were all kinds of teenagers and kids walking around and just hanging out. I'm not saying they were causing trouble, I'm just saying don't move here if you like peace and quiet. Maybe if my husband didn't work nights, we could have managed, but I was not about to be by myself until 4:00am with all the people hanging around outside. Also, the pictures look beautiful, but when you see them in person they look run down and a little shabby from the outside (but like I said, the apt we looked at was extremely nice). The garbage areas, park, pool area, etc were dirty and a lot of stuffed looked broken (especially the park equipment - half the swings were broken. I really wish they were more careful about the kind of people they let live there, because otherwise we definitely would have signed a lease. My advice - if you're a single guy, or will be with someone most of the time, it might be worth it for the price. But if you're a single woman or will be by yourself most of the time, I would think really think twice about living here.

I think the thugs hanging out look worse than they really are, but overall I agree with this review. I live in the very north end of the complex (very little foot and car traffic) and it's eerily quiet (except for the occasional domestic dispute). However, I imagine that it gets a bit more crowded and noisy in the heart of the complex. I probably would have made the same decision you did if I'd seen the same things you saw when you visited. This would be a much nicer place if management evicted the relative few who mess it up for the rest of us.
