I lived in Embassy Place Apartments for 3 years. They started out as a wonderful place to live ... an excellent, personable manager (Cyndi Hill), new construction, a quiet, safe location. While these convienences continue to be true, if I were considering moving there today I don't think I would make the same choice, for a few important reasons.

Number one, Embassy Place does not offer any re-sign bonus ... no carpet cleaning if you sign a new lease for another year ... no painting of your apartment ... nothing ... just an increase in rent.

Another issue is that some of the maintenance of the apartments are left to the tenants. If you need the batteries changed in your smoke alarm and you have an apartment with vaulted ceilings, you're on your own. In the winter, snow isn't removed on a timely basis. There is a recurring brief but annoying bug problem. The windows (the ones that can't be cleaned from inside your apartment)haven't been washed but only once in three years since I been in Embassy Place.

For Embassy Place to be (advertised as)luxury apartments and to run me $1200/month in rent, it doesn't quite make the mark. Embassy offers luxury structure without the amenities that one would expect.

I realize now that it would have been smarter to purchase a home (with a tax deductible mortgage for $1200/month)and have only myself to blame if my home needed painting, carpet needs cleaning, snow needs removing, and/or windows need cleaning.

So, if you choose Embassy realize that in many unexpected ways you will be on your own.
