Justifies high rent with many unused services

I have been a tenant in this complex for a little less than half a year but my experiences so far have given me grounds enough to write a review.
After repeated false promises it took over a month for Hampton in Highland to attach a name sign on our mailbox. I believe they only did it because I got sick of seeing the previous tenant's name on my box and just attached mine to it with a piece of paper.
During my stay here there is also a apparent miscalculation when it comes to dumpster pickup. A couple of days before the pickup occurs the dumpsters in front of our building would be completely overfilled to the point that garbage would just have to be left on the ground. Not a pretty picture.
Noise is pretty minimal. I can look straight down onto Indianapolis Blvd. (300 yards distance, Brompton building) and with closed doors you would never suspect living so close to a major street. Depending on how far and/or how well you live opposing the train tracks you will notice to some degree when trains are passing by.
If you should ever loose money in a machine you hopefully won't have to endure my experience. I attempted to operate a washer but it malfunctioned. I immediately went to the management office to report the incident and I was told that before any refunds can be given a audit first had to be performed to confirm the problem. One week went by, nothing. I inquired again and was told to wait for the process to complete. 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month, now I discovered that the damaged machine was replaced. Went back to the management office to inquire the status. No work orders, no paperwork, nothing. And the machine was only replaced because it was the oldest in the building was scheduled for replacement anyway. B.S.! They finally gave me my refund though. Yes, it was a lot of hassle for $1.25 but it's the principle. OMG, please make sure you don't wind up with a 30 year old refrigerator as I did. That was another false promise that was made to me because I noticed it during the presentation. These things are inefficient and run day and night, driving you insane and your power bill up. It took me some time to find out why my milk was spoiling so quick. It was the fridge, it wasn't broke but didn't have any forced air circulation inside which left uneven temperatures.
I have seen the complex slowly upgrade to CF-light bulbs but as in typical settings all supplied lighting inside my apartment consists of 130 volt bulbs. These bulbs last longer than regular incandescents you would find in the store but give out less light, essentially running your power bill up unnecessarily. Stop wasting energy because of a selfish decision management made years ago and replace these bulbs (my opinion).
The balconies are not child safe! I can not let my 2 year old set foot on our balcony because the gaps are to big.
Don't get me wrong, Hampton in Highland is not a bad place to stay but for me their portrayed image didn't match with my experiences. I don't know what the definition of luxury is when it comes to apartments but carrying my laundry through an entire building definitely doesn't fit in mine. Outdated appliance, very slow response time, child endangering construction, and lack of laundry options are my reason for why I would not recommend this place.
