i stayed for a year at lake in the woods. this was my first apt so i was EXTREMELY naive!! my kids and i moved in august, with several windows not having blinds. when they were put in, my 2 year old son pushed it out! we were on the 2nd floor!!!! can u say paranoid!
when the snow started to melt, around late nov '07, our entranceway flooded(it was like a waterfall on my wall) =( we were on the second floor. the neighbors on my side, above or below had no flooding. noone did anything until the paint started to buckle... that was like a month later. after fussing with tammy she moved us from our two bed to a one bed to spray fumes and not correct the problem. The wall continued to leaked during the spring rains! mold began to grow (we all have horrible allergies!) and we decided to just leave. it was so serious that we contacted a lawyer to get them to do anything. (pictures below) the pictures are after the "fixed the problem".
oh and parking is crazy, my kids are were toddlers and i work 2nd shift. so when i came home around midnight... there was nowhere to park!! i would have to park on the other side of the parking lot or on the street area in front of my apt. and yes there are pedofiles there, i looked it up... shoulda did that 1st, but its not just in the complex there are a ton of them in HOBART period!
they fired the good maintenance man that helped us in the beginning and hired some really bad people who would constantly have to come in my apt, and trash the bathroom... when i just happen to be out.
long story short, the maintanance is horrible, management and staff is lazy and bad, and the apartments are old... the mosquitoes and wasps will also attack u at the door so watch out for them and the mngment!!!
oh and they asked me to renew... LMAO!!

So...where are the pictures? And if you had such a problem, why didn't you take pictures of the issues BEFORE they were fixed. I'm a current tenant, and although I agree with a couple of your issues (the bees, parking), it's not nearly as bad as you're reviewing. As for screens coming out, the screens aren't meant to keep your kid from falling out of the window; that's the job of the parents. NO screen is going to prevent your kid from falling, old or otherwise. You might want to check www.familywatchdog.us, or the sheriff's department website, because there are NOT any sex offenders living in the complex. There is one registered person, but it's not a sex offense that person is registered for (it's manslaughter, over 15 years ago, so the guy served his time). Again, still looking for the pictures, but you still should have taken some before problems were corrected. I mean, how would anybody know if you were just lying about the problem and took a bunch of photos of your unit and said "oh, this is AFTER the problem was fixed".

the pictures are of the entry hall. the before pictures are not on my cell phone. yet this is AFTER the problem was SUPPOSED to have been fixed! regardless of when the pictures were taken, a problem like that should have been corrected IMMEDIATELY and the screen shouldn't have fallen out when tapped, which is why I was surprised! and i checked more than one website for offenders! maybe u should also!

it sounds like that person works for the complex. i live here now and i must say i am having a horrible time!! first my neighbor broke in. then they moved me to a new building. then my balcony had a hole in it. i called for months trying to get it fixed! needless to say a family of racoons got in the hole and was in my wall. they did nothing. after constant calling they came and patched the hole but didn't get rid of the animals!! so, it's just going to be a matter of time before my apt begins to smell!! the snow removal is horrible! they have handymen that cannot speak a lick of english!! one time one came and had me talk to someone on the cell phone and the other guy translated!! i can go on and on!
