As I see one review for this location I feel I should actually post a review with content. I moved into a 2 bed / 2 bath in December. I'll write my review much like I did for the last place I lived. I'll cover the topics that you vote on here at this site. I try to offer the best and honest review with no bias.
Parking: I have yet to see or hear of any safety issues with this location. Parking areas are very well lit. Parking availability on the other hand can be problematic depending on the area of your apartment. Spots are limited in certain areas.
Noise: The noise issues with location are due to poor construction. We were warned very well up front by all members of the office staff that some people have noticed unacceptable amounts of noise between floors. We live in a first floor unit and can confirm that noise is a very very serious problem. The unit directly above us was empty when we selected our unit. We asked to go up to the unit above ours and my roommate walked around that unit while I stayed downstairs listening. At the time we didn't notice too much of a problem. The high heels of the office staff were noticeable but not too serious. Once people moved in upstairs we did notice the noise. A LOT. Units near stairwells have bedrooms that are on the other side of the wall from the stairs. You will hear every person walking up the stairs. They do not have to run up or stomp up the stairs to be heard. Also if the noise is an issue and the people above you don't go to sleep until after midnight you WILL have issues. Even while I write this review I hear the people above us stomping around. The complex is actively looking for solutions to address these issues and are more than honest up front that there have been complaints. They will even give you details about what steps they are taking to try to get things resolved.
Grounds: So far the grounds have been maintained and are great shape. Trails around the complex are not all paved. Some trails are pebbled and I would hope that in time they do have plans of paving those trails proper. The landscaping is very well done and maintained.
Safety: There have been some comments about sliding doors not locking properly. This issue is being address and repairs are being made. We learned that the doors actually are fine you just need to make sure the locking device is visible when you go to close the door. When you unlock the door the lock goes fully inside the lock device. Making sure you have it engaged prior to closing makes the door safe and secure. They have an officer available at all times and unlike my last location this person actually takes the calls and turns reports over to the property.
Construction: As I listed above this is the place where the community takes a big hit. The place is beautiful except for poor sound insulation.
Heating insulation seems to be much above normal and even in the dead of winter (single digit temps) we could turn the heat down to 50 degrees and never see the room temp drop below 64. Heating bills for our unit run 90 - 100 a month but that could be because of 2 larger aquariums kept in our place.
Appliances and fixtures are very good quality though you DO need to make sure the drains drain properly. If they do not just let the staff know and they will address and fix the problem. We had some wiring issues with our place (closet switch turned off the power for the entire master bedroom). All of these are fixed with top level service. The appliances are all GE and are very well made. The water heater is a little on the small side and tends to run out of hot water before two adults can take showers (10 - 15 min each).
Maintenance: The current maintenance staff is nothing shy of amazing. All concerns are addressed as soon as possible and follow up is always well done. Snow removal was very well done, so much so that we almost felt bad for their families knowing the long hours they worked over the few days to get everyone in good shape. The repair work done is far above average. Considering that it is pretty much a thankless job, these guys are great.
Staff: This staff is active in the community and takes pride in knowing it's residents. They are all friendly and return calls on time. When you have maintenance issues they follow up with you to ensure all repairs meet your approval. Everyone is always friendly and smiling. They will follow up when you have other issues (like noisy neighbors) and you can trust that they are actually trying to fix situations.
Overall: So far after about 4 months of living here we are much more happy compared to our last apartment. I know this review smacks of someone working for the complex but you can read my last review (Buffalo Creek) to see that I try to be fair. I can tell you that the sound insulation issues can really get you irritated but overall I must say that this community is rare for it's quality toward keeping it's renters happy. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC

Hello. I do work at the office staff and I can vouch that the person who wrote this does not work at the office. I leased to them and they are great residents. We so try very hard to make and keep our residents happy here at Aspen Lakes Apartments!
