This is an updated review.

Parking: Safety hasn t appeared to be an issue for the 2 years I ve lived here. Parking can be an issue at times depending where you live. Spots are limited in certain areas.

Noise: The noise issues with location are due to poor construction. I ve heard that proper sub-floors were not installed in the complex. We had been told this up front when I moved here two and a half years ago but can t say for sure that the office staff warn anyone now. The sound between floors is very bad. I can confirm that rumbling noises ended up being cats running across the floor. I shouldn t be able to hear a regular weight cat run in the apartment above me. If your neighbors above you don t pull the door close but rather let it slam shut, you will hear the cracking noise and vibration of your walls.

Grounds: The grounds look great and always have. The trails along the lake have recently received new rocks. A shame it still isn t paved.

Safety: I ve never once had any issue with safety. We did call the courtesy officer one time for noise issues. While he didn t appear he did turn a report over to the staff that I had called with problems. I don t know about the current situations.

Construction: As I listed above this is the place where the community takes a big hit. The place is beautiful except for poor sound insulation.

Heating insulation seems to be much above normal and even in the dead of winter (single digit temps) we could turn the heat down to 50 degrees and never see the room temp drop below 64. Heating bills for our 2 bedroom unit run 75 - 95 a month.

Appliances and fixtures are average for an apartment complex. Our dishwasher has had the transmission slipping for 6 months. I ve read others have had similar issues with the dishwashers. While they did try to repair the unit I believe it needed replaced. We had some wiring issues with our place (closet switch turned off the power for the entire master bedroom). All of these are fixed with top level service. This was during the early days of the complex so now that most units have been lived in this probably isn t an issue any longer. The appliances are all GE and are decent with the exception of the dishwasher. The water heater is a little on the small side and tends to run out of hot water before two adults can take showers (10 - 15 min each).

Maintenance: The current maintenance staff is nothing shy of amazing. All concerns are addressed as soon as possible and follow up is always well done. Snow removal was very well done, so much so that we almost felt bad for their families knowing the long hours they worked over the few days to get everyone in good shape. The repair work done is far above average. Considering that it is pretty much a thankless job, these guys are great.

Staff: The staff changed from the time we first moved in. Sadly the level of friendly service left with it. While certain members of the staff are friendly enough, others need some serious lessons on customer service skills and how to properly follow up with problems.

Overall: I had a situation arise after signing to transfer to a new unit. They used to provide the apartments with white walls. They've decided that the units should now be painted. I wasn't notified of the change and I didn't agree with the color. Some would call the color something along butterscotch. When I voiced my concern I asked that the walls be returned to white. Due to some poor follow up on the office staff's behalf nothing was able to be done. I decided I didn't want the expense of painting my apartment to make it presentable to me. I did speak to someone at Hunt-Pacific and they did decide to refund the nonrefundable holding deposit due to the nature of the events and the outcome. I'm sad to leave the complex but do wish that Hunt-Pacific focus on providing the best service for their tenants in the future. While I agree that painting the units is a nice feature, they should look into colors a little more neutral than the one I was presented with. In the end, I would still suggest people give this location a serious look as the good points far outweigh the bad.

Hello. I do work at the office staff and I can vouch that the person who wrote this does not work at the office. I leased to them and they are great residents. We so try very hard to make and keep our residents happy here at Aspen Lakes Apartments!
