I have lived here for about 9 months now and plan to renew at the end of the year. It is a great place to live, but like all places there are going to be flaws. I will try to give you the good and the bad of all aspects:
Parking:
Good - The lots are well maintained and marked very well.
Bad - Now that the complex is about full there is a shortage of parking in areas. As long as you don't get home late you're still going to get a good spot.
Noise:
Good - I never hear any road noise, aircraft, or loud stereos.
Bad - The floor/ceiling is a little "thin" We can hear a lot of what the people above us are doing but it does seem like one of them constantly stomps. Its going to be hit or miss here.
Grounds:
Good- Looks great and well kept. The geese were not a problem at all. :)
Bad - There are a few of the walking paths that need to be paved.
Safety:
Good - Double locks on the doors
Bad - well not really bad but just for added safety i suggest getting something to brace the sliding glass door for that patio, but that is just smart
Construction:
Good - Lots of room and great layout. Insulation seems to be above par for an apartment. Washer and Dryer in unit is a big plus!!
Bad - floor/ceiling should have been sound proofed a little better, this is my #1 compliant by the way and it isn't really that bad either
Maintenance:
Good: The guys are great, they are there the next day and always let you know what they did.
Bad - Dave is awesome! Ok, thats not bad but i had nothing.
Staff:
Good - They all know me by name and remember what problems we have had in the past. They are super nice and just all around great people
Bad - Again nothing bad to say, those ladies are just amazing!
Overall:
I really like this place and the people who run it. Other than a little bit of noise I personally have not had any problems. If you are looking for somewhere that is a little more expensive than the surrounding area but is in another level in class, service, and amenities, Aspen Lakes is the place for you!
