Happy my lease is almost over!!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/29/2007
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I lived at this apartment for almost 3 years. I loved it at first. The office staff was very friendly and always took care of my needs. They were always courteous when I would go in there. The property was always well taken care of (including the ponds and sidewalks). After the new management took over it went downhill. The new manager is very rude. The office staff is rude as well. When I would go in there they would say "What do you want'" instead of "How can I help you''".
The property looked disgusting. What is the point of sidewalks if there is duck and dog poop on them' Gross algae was growing in the ponds -- never a problem before.. so I don't see why it is now. Also the hallways in the buildings were not swept for a long time and cobwebs were growing all over the stairs. This also was never a problem with the previous management.
The maintenance staff was really nice.. At least the manager did something right. The only problem I do have with the maintenance staff is they come in to the apartment with no warning. They knock on the door and then enter.. Sometimes they would come in when I was sleeping or just got out of the shower and didn't really want them in there. I think if they could call ahead before they come to change furnace filters or do whatever else they need to do that would be good.
Another issue I would like to address is the parking. The management sent out notifications in their newsletters that there should be room for one car from each apartment in front of each building.. If that is the truth then why did I NEVER have a parking spot in front of my building. I'm the ONLY one living in my apartment so if what the manager stated was the truth, then I should have had a parking spot in front of my building. Maybe marking one parking spot for each unit would solve this problem' Oh, and I know that new parking was created, but that didn't help me.. I still found myself parking in places far from my building at night when I got off work because I did not have a spot in front of my building like I should have.
The last problem I would like to address is a trash issue. People leave their trash outside their doors and it attracts bugs. I brought this to the managers attention a few times, and yes, she sent it out in the newsletter that people should throw their trash in the dumpster or they would be fined but it didn't seem to work. People in my building would leave trash outside their doors for weeks... So it doesn't really seem like anybody was monitoring the situation to make sure trash was actually thrown away.. So why make a rule when you're not going to enforce it'
Anyways, for the old management.. you did great.. new management.. Well, not so great.
