Square footage good for the price...but there's a reason...

The apartments here are relatively spacious for the price. However, there's a lot of reasons the price is lower than average. The residences, IMHO, are old crapholes that have been minimally gutted and had some fresh paint slapped up.
Maintenance is horribly slow, it takes several calls to get things done, and there seems to be a police visit at least once a week. Google "Indianapolis police incidents" and look at the area.
I came home on New Year's to find 5 cop cars & 3 guys handcuffed on my front porch.
Garbage is not picked up often enough, and the dumpsters are routinely full with residents just piling it up around for stray animals to get at.
Parking is an issue, not necessarily because of a lack of spots, but because there are apartments overcrowded with way too many people living in them.
Lastly, the people saying they've had a good experience with this place on this board are probably just the management trying to make this place not look like a complete slum.
That's my two cents...I'd be out of here right now if the terms to break the lease didn't amount to 3 1/2 month's rent.
