Nostalgia trip took me back

Years at this apartment: Pre-1980 - 1979
Our family lived at Marten Manor Apartments way back in the late 1970s--8026 Egret Lane! On a recent trip back to Indianapolis (I live in Chicago now, and yes, some people visit Indy as tourists), I stopped by the old apartment just for fun. I even visited the management/leasing office and spoke with an agent who was amused that someone would come back to the apartment they remember from childhood!
Well, things have not changed very much, looks-wise. The property looked good--the roads were paved, the grounds well kept. The faux-Tudor style building siding was the same, the outdoor lighting looked the same, the outdoor covered parking sheds were the same, the pool area looked the same. The only thing I thought was weird was that it looked like they took down all the high fences around the ground floor apartment patios. I do not think that Marten Manor is the kind of place that has upgraded the apartment kitchen with granite countertops, expensive cabinetry and top-of-the-line GE appliances, but I bet things are not too bad. This would probably be a decent place for small families or older people (it's very close to St. Vincents).
I am sorry others do not have such happy memories of Marten Manor now, but it was pleasant while we lived there.
