When I moved in, I was satisfied with the property, as the price was good and the apartments seemed to be of good quality for the price. The amenities were available and in working order.

Since the new management took over, the property has really become troublesome. Currently, many of the amenities that are advertised are not available to us. There is no longer a tanning bed. The pool didn't open until late July and it is currently closed due to vandalism. Security is my main concern. There is inadequate security when it comes to monitoring the residents. After hours, there are groups of kids and teenagers wandering around, being loud, vandalizing property. Much of the playground equipment is broken or has profanities written on it, I've seen kids trying to injure the ducks by chasing them and throwing large rocks at them. The pool gets vandalized constantly, I've had my car windows smashed and mail stolen from the outgoing mailbox. I've called the security line on several occasions to report incidents, but it doesn't seem to help. Restrictions need to be posted and enforced. Security cameras need to be installed at the pool, playground, fitness room, tennis court and perhaps even the parking lots. Even fake cameras would help deter at least some of the bad behavior. I don't feel safe being at the playground or pool with my daughter when I'm completely outnumbered by obnoxious kids and teenagers.

Lastly, when I contact management, I seem to get attitude instead of answers. I understand they are probably frustrated with the situation as well, but they take out their frustrations with the bad residents by punishing all the residents. If preventive measures were in place, perhaps there wouldn't be so much reason to be frustrated.

Brighton park Apartments is the worst property I ever stayed at. The mangement does not have no respect or consideration for the residents. Sometimes if you have a concern or submit a problem to their attention they will tell you ,there is nothing they can do.And if you do not like it you can move out. The management will tow your car with no notice.I purchased a car a month after I moved in here,prior to the car being delivered to the complex I informed someone in the leasing office about it and also told them it will be few days before the car dealer will be able to provide me with the proper paper work to get a licence plate,unfortenately the temporarily tag was stolen 2 days later,next thing I know the car was towed away.It costed me a day of work,because by the time I find out what happen to the car and where it was I was already 4 hours late for work. This is what I went through in this property,the management is very difficult to work with,they treat you like you live in a shelter where you have to go by their rules . One time I paid my rent on the 24th of the month,few days later I receive a law suit because accordind to them no payment was received . I had to go to go to court with the copy of the check I paid with.The judge ended up dismissing the case.I was told by the property manager that they posted on someone else's account, but think about all the embarassment and the waste of time.They made it sound like all that was my fault,and there is nothing they can do. I also come to find out from the gas company that the aparments do not have their own meter,the leasing office pretty much charge us what they want.One time my gas bill was outrageous I brought it to their attention they told me there is nothing they can do and why don't I move out at the end of my lease. The property management need to understand that we do not live here for free and we have other choices. I do not need any personal favors ,just be respected and be treated with more respect.
