I lived here for 2 years between 2003-2005. Specifically, I was in the 3 story building with an underground garage. I've read all the reviews and decided to throw in my 2 cents. When I first walked into the garage of my unit I was happy, because it was a large, well lit, underground parking area. The elevator and back stairways we're kinda creepy until you saw 85 year old women going up and down them and if they aren't scared, why would you be'. It's an old building to be sure, but all that was washed away when we got to my unit. Big, spacious, well lit, affordable. I had 2 bedroom 2 bath, 1100 sq. ft. for 715. I was told up front that heating was a budgeted $75/mo. (the idiot who posted that they had to pay for heating year round aparently didn't understand the concept of budgeted heating). Maintenance was great. I never had to wait more than a day for help to arrive on non-urgent calls. I did have one urgent issue that was taken care of immidiately. I was on the 2nd floor and a 3rd floor water pipe busted and left an inch or two of water in my hallway and bathroom. Maintenance was there in under 2 hours and had professional roto rooter guys come clean the area. I only lost $15 of my deposit, and that was for damage I expected to incur. As for the employees, they were great. Not once did I ever have an issue with them, especially Bess and Kelli. They were amazingly helpful whenever I walked in or called them. As for Lisa, I don't know why people had any issues with her. I figure if your reasonable, people with be reasonable. Overall, I loved living there, and if I had to rent again near the Broadripple area, there is no other place I would even consider.

The idiot who posted that they had to pay for heating all year round absolutely understands the concept of budgeted heating. Obviously you are blind and cannot read ( or spell for that matter) because I CLEARLY stated that I was not informed of that at the time of signing the lease. But that is okay, not everyone has sense. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your living experience at what you consider " A diamond in the rough", but some of us are used to and are currently living better. Hats off to you and Brocktons "great" staff!
