Mostly very nice

We moved here about 10 years ago, into a 3-bedroom townhouse. I think your experience with Brockton may depend partly on your expectations. This is a very old complex, old buildings, old plumbing, and so on. Naturally the faucets will drip or leak from time to time, and there will be occasional problems with the water heater or furnace or A/C. However, the maintenance staff is absolutely wonderful. Every time I've put in a maintenance request, someone has come out in a day or two and taken care of it -- they are friendly, and very competent. I've had the same great experience with the office staff -- they have been absolutely wonderful, I don't think you could ask for nicer or better people. The apartment grounds are well maintained and pleasant. They clean the ice and snow from the sidewalks, so I can almost always go out and walk around. The only negatives I can report -- and I will, just be stay honest -- have to do with the age of the buildings. Although the walls between apartments appear to be thick (I hardly ever hear my neighbors), the outside walls are thin and evidently poorly insulated, making it cold downstairs in the winter and hot upstairs in the summer. And since all the windows overlook parking areas, there is the usual noise from cars and people outside, but this is probably true of most apartments. All in all, it's a very nice, very well managed apartment, with an office and maintenance staff so wonderful I almost think of them as family. We just bought a house and will leave soon, but I will miss the staff.
