Brookwood Apartments

Please read for your safety- bad place to live From: martin0628@comcast.net Date posted: 2/27/2007 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007   We have lived here or the past 10 months and it has been an awful experience. Not only was out apartment a fright on move in day. very dirty, fleas in carpet, spoiled food still in fridge, but service stinks here as well. Always took multiple complaints to get anything fixed and was done wrong most of the time. Staff doesn't care at all. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Last week I was sleeping at 9am (I work nights) Maintenance came to fix a structural problem that I was not even aware of. I did not here them knock so they unlocked the door themselves. I had the sliding glass door and front door locked including chain. Yet they broke in anyway. When I finally heard 2 strange men were in the living room (from outside sompany)and Maint. man had his arm through front door trying to take off chain. I immediately went to ofice and I was not allowed to see manager at first. Assist. manager said there was nothing I could do. Later in the day we met with the manager and she though it was no big deal and said they have the right to used excessice force to get into any apartment and that it is in our lease. I should say not I would never sign that and of course they cannot show me the paper I signed agreeing to it because I didn't. The manager acted like it was a funny matter laughing at one point. We are nowing going to the management Co to get this all sorted out. ALso we wonder if the structural damage was so bad that they had to do the work that day why did they allow us to live there for 5 weeks with it. The neighbors above us got another apartment. BE AWARE OF AMICO PROPERTIES ESPECIALLY BROOKWOOD @ 31 south/thompson road in Indianapolis IN.
