Don't let them fool you...

First off let me begin with the very first couple of weeks I lived here. We moved in to the apartments in June of 2007 with very high hopes of this place being a nice place to live. The VERY first day my a/c stopped working. So we went up to the front office and they were extremely rude about the situation. It was summer and it was about 95 degrees outside so it was unbearable inside the apartment even with the doors open. So my roomate at the time and I both went up there, my roomate is a pretty big guy and can be intimidating, we went up to the lady and basically told her that if we don't get our air fixed within the next 2 days, which would be a month after we moved in, then we would be calling AIMCO to resolve the situation and we would request that we get our deposit of $300 refunded. Yes we had to deposit $300 because they decided to throw in a couple hundred dollars of extra fees. So the maintanance people came over the next day and the told us the air wasn't working. WELL NO DUH! We knew that! So they told us that they would have some other company come out and fix it. The company came out and they fixed it within an hour. And they told us that the maintanence here are just plain stupid and they could have fixed it if they really wanted to.
Another thing that really gets under my skin at Brookwood is that they have a police officer going around at random hours checking cars for flat tires, expired license plates, and cars that haven't been moved in 2 days. They constantly tag peoples cars that do not need it. It's a pretty orange sticker that leaves sticky residue all over your car. At one point, they put one on my car that had an expired license plate for 1 day! So i went into the office and waited an hour just to speak to the rudest old lady there. She ignored the fact I was there and I had to force her to talk to me. I told her that if they towed my brand new car away that they would be responsible for the fees and they would have to pay to have my plates renewed.
The managment has changed since we moved in her about 3 times. The manager now is from afganistan or somewhere close to there because he can't speak a single word of english right. He is very rude and so are the ladies that work there with the exception of the treasurer and 2 of the front desk ladies. I will be moving out in June which I am SOOOOO happy to do. Oh, and don't be a day late on rent because you will get a $65 fee. The place is very ghetto. I have two very good friends who live above someone and the people downstairs from them constantly bang their rap music and have their little girl running around naked while they smoke pot. Yes I have seen them smoking pot. The police do nothing. Just drive away from this place. It is your best bet.
