The apartments are pretty nice looking, just your usual problems with an older building such as high heating and cooling costs. However, the parking situation here is the worst Ive ever encountered in my many years as a renter. We have gated parking but they only allow one car per unit to park in the lot. Any other cars have to park at the business next door (and be out by 8:30 am), park on the street (which also has restricted times), or park at the business across the street (and theres nothing like trying to cross 4 lanes of traffic on Meridian after dark!). For a while we were having problems with people without permits parking in the lot which left others to create parking spaces, often blocking others in. Now they have begun having a towing company randomly patrol the lot and tow any car with out a permit (I watched 2 cars get towed at about 11:00 last night.)

The parking situation has made it nearly impossible for us to have family and friends over because we have to ask guests to park on the street in a not so great nieghborhood.

So if you live by yourself, have only one car and never have guests, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, like us, youll be looking for someplace new.

My roommates have both had their cars towed....one with the permit in the window (they claim they didn't see it) and one because it unknowingly fell off (it's a cling). The first time the towing company did bring it back but the second time she was stuck paying something close to $200 for the towing (even worse--it's a company vehicle and her boss was out of town and the towing place wouldn't release the car to her because her boss was out of town). To give an update, the way they do parking now is to give everyone on the lease a permit and it's first come, first serve. The place next door that used to offer overflow parking refused to renew the agreement so now we have no choice but to walk across 4 lanes of Meridian St (which is very dangerous with all the morning traffic) or fight for a spot on the street (I won't do that because I've seen a couple of those cars on the street get creamed by drunk drivers at night). There are always people out begging for money at the intersections of 30th and Meridian and 32nd and Meridian, too, which makes you feel really safe if you come home late.
