My wife and I have lived here for about 9 months now. The reason we chose this apartment complex was its' proximity to Highway 465 and 69. Additionally, though the units show much older than comparable units in the area, the grounds were lovely. We also got a move-in special tough to refuse.
What is funny is that I had a hold on a unit in Fishers. I had called about the crime of both and Core Riverbend had serious crime vs. NO REPORTED incidents in the past 120 days at Conner Farms. Well, we chose Core Riverbend anyhow...I mean, why not' Less expensive, tennis court, free yoga, beautiful pond and whatnot.
So then the thermostat goes south. They keep coming in saying they will fix it but guess what' Problem is never solved more than a week. We have to turn the heat/ac OFF when we want it to shut off as the unit sticks at a temperature that is not accurate--meaning the unit thinks it needs to stay on to reach, say, 75 in the summer or 65 in the winter. But it may already be plenty warm and cold. WHY HAVE THEY NOT REPLACED IT' Simple. You get what you pay for. We were the low-bidders, in that we got a great special for a two bedroom...and we got what we asked for. BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE!...
This past week my car was broken into, along with a total of (8) residents in one night. I am a neat freak, there was nothing laying on the dash, seats, etc. What the thief did was open my console, spill everything out and steal my $400 iPod. Additionally, when we moved in, someone cut the window screens on BOTH our bedroom windows and there were hand imprints where you can tell someone tried to open the window.
The office states they are concerned with security and that this will be an isolated incident. 8 thefts in one night, and people trying to break into our unit at night...And this happened one street down last week!!! If this complex decides to add a full-time patrol during evenings, things may improve. Also, if the owners decide to spend more on maintaing their units. I have to hand it to the office staff because they are extremely professional, but professionalism in sales and management vs. investing in ownership are two different things.
I would consider what is important to you. If you want to be close to the highway it is great here. Consider the trade-offs...you will hear the highway and safety will be lower. If you don't mind the commute, consider living 5 minutes farther down Allisonville. It is a beautiful area with great ammenities. Just remember: you get what you pay for.

I 100% agree with your thoughts. Its pretty obvious that the owners don't care about this place. Unfortunate too, as the location of this property would tend to make it highly desirable. I think management cares, but if the owners don't want to pay for maintenance or security then there's probably not much they can do. The owners of this complex should be ashamed.
