DO NOT MOVE IN TO CORE RIVERBEND

I repeat, do not move in to this place or you will be making a HUGE mistake and regret it. I am updating this post after I just got hung up on after calling them.
If you are having thoughts about moving in to Core Riverbend apartments or town homes, take in to consideration what I have to say below.
I live in the area in Core Riverbend where you will find the town homes. Before first moving here in May, the leasing agents have a lot of ammunition to hype the place up. They have a mansion of an office, 2 nice swimming pools, racquetball rooms, and a weight room. These things are really nice, but they're only nice because they are the only things that Core Riverbend puts their money into!
While reading the problems I have below, keep in mind that I pay almost $1100 a money for this DUMP of a place!
I have MAJOR mold (green and black) and mildew problems. The entire maintenance crew is incompetent and does a half ass job fixing the simplest of tasks. After calling in, it took them 2 months and 3 failed attempts to fix a leak in my bathroom. Because of this leak, it added on to the even worse MOLD problem here! They ended up putting a whole new vanity in for my bathroom sink, simply covering up all of the nasty mold and rotting wood underneath. Now every time I open a cabinet in my bathroom sink, I get a nice whiff of wet mold and mildew.
Worms, ants, and other bugs come in from the bathrooms, the kitchen, all of the unsealed locations outside, the floors, the doors, and the windows. The bug man supposedly comes and sprays but it's impossible to get rid of the issue because these places are so OLD.
My fireplace above my roof is leaning at about a 10 degree angle. I swear it gets worse and worse each month. I am calling the Building Inspections Agency of Indianapolis this week to have them come look at the problem to see if I'm in danger of the fireplace caving in on me.
Almost every single closet door in the place doesn't work. The tracks are all broken and they all need replaced. Every time I've called maintenance about them they come and say it's fixed and the door breaks again after opening it once. I have lost all hope and have pretty much given up on the entire maintance crew.
All of the kitchen appliances are ----. They are all old and outdated, the dish washer barely works, the cabinets break all of the time, the refrigerator is tiny and old, and the stove top pieces are all bent causing pots and pans to slide off the stove when cooking and also causes uneven cooking. You'll find all of the great little annoyances if you choose to live here and decide not to pay the additional $250-$300 a month for new appliances! Personally, paying $1071/month I feel that the appliances should be at least somewhat nice considering the conditions of the rest of my place.
The garages outside are ridden with raccoons because Riverbend doesn't keep the garage units maintained.
The house and my clothes smell like smoke and no one who lives here smokes.
None of the window blinds actually fit the windows. Causing them to break all of the time and having to fix them.
There are potholes everywhere in the entrances and other places on the roads of Core Riverbend. They are starting to fix a couple of these but they left them untouched for God knows how long.
The leasing agent promised a $200 gift certificate to me upon moving in which I never got and never will get. My main concern about this is that they lied to me and when I asked them about it they say they can't help because the agent "unfortunately" doesn't work here anymore.
Finally, Core River does not care about you or your concerns as a resident. All they care about is milking you for your money so they can put it all in to making themselves look better. There are much better places around here that are much nicer and won't put as big of a hole in your wallet. Unforetunely, I have to put up with this place for 9 more months. All of this leads me to tell you: Don't live at Core Riverbend Apartments. I repeat, DO NOT LIVE AT CORE RIVERBEND APARTMENTS!

I live at Riverbend right now, but my lease is almost up and I am looking for a different place to live. I also had a large mold problem in my apartment that management did nothing to fix until I took pictures of the problem and asked to be moved into a different apartment. They almost tried to charge me more for moving into a different mold-free apartment! It was hard to even breathe in the place, smelled terrible, and felt damp upon walking in. Maintenance also took about 3 times to fix a leak under my bathroom sink in the new apartment. They must hire people who don't know how to use tools and don't care at all about their jobs. Don't plan on anything getting fixed the first 5 times you ask!

I completely agree with these other renters...NO NOT MOVE TO CORE RIVERBEND!!! This place is terrible. I have to call maintenance several times in order to fix something, and most of the time it doesn't really get fixed. You have to leave a "message" with the maintenance office and at least half the time they never call you back. The leasing office is useless. They are the most stuck up people i've ever met. The new manager is absolutely terrible. I've had to complain about a tenant in my building several times and she does absolutely nothing to try to fix the noise issue he causes. She has absolutely NO idea what I have to put up with, and most recently, tried to tell me i'm not being very tolerant. Unless you are willing to come over to my apartment and hear for yourself what I have to put up with, don't you dare try to tell me i'm not being tolerant. I absolutely hate this place. The potholes at the entrances to this place are absolutely ridiculous. They are all nice and friendly when you are shopping for an apartment, but as soon as you sign that lease they do not care about making sure you remain a happy tenant. The only, and trust me I mean ONLY, good thing about this place is the location. Other than that, there are many, many more apartments that actually care about the tenants and keeping the apartments decent. I really urge you to look elsewhere. I am counting down the days until my lease is up.

pegasus, I would not recommend moving in to CORE Riverbend due to a majority of the bad experiences people have had here. However, if you do decide to take the risk and move in, please come back to this review and let us know what you think of CORE Riverbend after 6-12 months or so!
