It seems that way. My girlfriend got an apartment there last november, first time living on her own. The place is gorgeous at first glance, the neighbors don't give us any problems, but the staff sure as hell does. For one, her doors don't close. Her bathroom door one day just stopped working. Called maintenance, got nothing. A couple months down the road, the microwave stopped working. We have called almost 7 times in 8 months and nothing has been done. A couple months ago they sent someone to "look at it", but he wouldn't come in because her dog (which was locked in a cage in the other room) was barking and it scared him. They brought people over like 3 times to "look at it", but they won't do anything.

Her toilet doesn't flush! It takes 8-12 flushes to get anything to go down. The "wonderful" maintence crew came by 4 times, hit it with a plunger, fixed nothing, and bailed.

Here's the worst of it all, my favorite part. The last time we had maintenence come to play around, we come home to find that one of them left their gloves sitting on the sink. No big deal, right' Well we go into the storage closet to put it aside, and there we find a Nintendo Wii video game that my girlfriend had bought as a christmas gift for her nephew, stolen. It was still wrapped in the celophane when we left it in there, now it was totally unwrapped, the disc was gone but the box was still there. NO ONE had been in the apartment in three days except maintenence. So we go over to the front office to explain what happened, and after being greeted by a bubbly little blonde ditz, we got pushed over to the manager... a slightly older blonde ditz. She took down our info, and never called us again. We never got a word about it, never got our game back, and everytime we call they ignore us or...

THEY JUST HANG UP ON US!! Read the other reviews, apparently hanging up on people is a trend.


Screw this place.

Something really needs to be done about this place. I tell anyone and everyone to stay away from CORE Riverbend and never to move there. They also went in to my apartment without telling me, who knows if they took anything. You've confirmed that the maintenance crew is completely incompetent and the staff at the office isn't any better (who has also hung up on me). I have finally moved out of the CORE Dump and am so much happier now, except I still can't get away from them because they keep trying to send me utility bills saying they run 2 months behind (even though I got a utility bill the first month I moved in). I am not going to pay it because I've already over paid them and they royally screwed up billing on utilities while I was living there and they have no idea what they're talking about. For anyone considering moving in to Core Riverbend... please don't! Even though their office seems nice, save yourself the trouble and look somewhere else. You will be very disappointed if you move here.

Yeah the utility bills are CRAZY - and they run about 75$ for each gas and electric. The water bill? - They tried to charge me for 3 people - only 1 person lives here and when I confront them they just smile and nod like 59 dollars is normal for 1 persons water bill. I eventually got a response after I got the run - around and demanded to talk to management. My account was credited - magically the amount owed for next month, interesting how that works out.
