If you are an "ourdoorsy" type, then this is the place for you. My first floor unit was infested with bugs. I killed ATLEAST 3 centi/millipeds a day and I am NOT kidding. The spiders were a nightmare too. BUT, I called maintenance (if you call during business hours, they always answer) and within 2 days the exterminator was there. He sprayed on a Thursday, I still saw bugs crawling, albeit very slow, for about 2 days. Then they were all dead. Kind of scary because whatever he sprayed worked really well. I'll let you know if I grow another nose in the near future.
Otherwise, the place was nice. Yeah, the washer and dryer wasn't the greatest but they beat the hell out of the laundry mat.
Parking sucks (don't come home after 8pm) but I was always able to find a space on my side of the complex if I couldn't get close to my unit.
It's cool being close to the canal for a nice evening or monring walk or jog. I always felt safe BUT I still took percautions. The shrubs are beautiful but it IS an urban area and I could imagine that they are a great hiding place for those up to no good. There is a camera as you come into the main door of your buidling. It's worthless. It doesn't record anything, it just allows you to see who's out there via a TV channel.
BEWARE, if you move into this place, when it's time to move out they try to nickle and dime you to death to keep your security deposit. The parking tag for the car is *$250* so DON'T lose it. Also, if you lose a key, it's $50 bucks to replace. And god forbid if you forget to clean out a cabinet. They'll charge you $50 bucks.
