Canal Square Apartments

Not worth the money From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/19/2008 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008 4 responses   This place is super expensive but that is what you get for living downtown. I constantly have bugs in my apartment, maybe thats the joy of living on the canal. Maintenance is around but if you want them to fix something, be ready for 4 or 5 attempts. If you choose to pay for parking, which is rediculous, you get an assigned spot in the structure. During the winter, the roof is not salted and it is slippery to drive on. Although spots are numbered, people are too dumb to realize they are in the wrong spot. There are constantly cars in my spot and the system seems like a free for all. The structure seems to be the hangout for the college kids, often drinking and throwing things outside. I have found beer cans left on my car on many weekends. The noise in this building is absurd. You can hear perfectly through the walls. I can hear people when I walk through the hallway, even when they are in their bathrooms! The garbage truck comes 3 times a week and it sounds like explosions. This building allows pets. Where there are dogs, there is dog poop. Poop is all over the place, in the hall, in the stairwells. I pass people who work here vacuuming the hallway but apparently they are not on poop duty because it is never picked up. And its not like it is even hidden. Poop has been sitting by the elevator for a week and still remains. People don't take out their trash, they just throw it in the hallway. The last time i checked, we have dumpsters and trash chutes. Beer cans are constantly being left by doors, it is like living in a frat house. The staff is terrible. You go and ask a question and they just look at you like idiots. Sure they are nice but you need to make sure they write down your comment or else they forget. The appliances are cheap. My dishwasher hasn't worked since I moved in and they have been in on a few occasions to fix it. The ceilings leak and you walk around buckets in the hallway. For the money, you are better off someplace else!
