We lived at Carlton for two years and took what we considered excellent care of the apartment. As any pet owner knows, sometimes there are accidents. We cleaned them quickly and even bought a carpet cleaner to keep things nice. A few weeks after moving out we recieved a bill for about a $1,000 dollars to replace the entire carpet. They had found 1 spot in the living room room that had leaked through while tearing up the cheap carpet that was going to be replaced anyway so they made us pay for changeing the carpet in the entire apartment. They are crooked!! If you have pets do not rent there unless you plan on diapering them for the duration of your lease. The management is rude and unhelpful, even to people who have paid there rent ontime for years and have had no complaints against them. We wouldn't recommend that anyone live in these apartments if they have a choice to live elsewhere. The complex is not safe either. I can't even begin to count the number of times I saw the police there.

I agree...if they are going to change the carpet anyway which is substandard to begin with, it is ridiculous...and it is definitely not safe...

Carlton has a very liberal pet policy. The pet deposit is only $200 and is fully refundable upon move out if there are not any damages from the pet. They do not charge any monthly pet fees either, which is very rare now days. Unfortunately, sometimes the carpet is damaged beyond repair due to pets and when this happens the resident is responsible for the damages.
