Some things about Carlton are still very good. When my wife was in an accident they were prompt about having a handicapped parking space put in and allowing us to make our building more handicap accessible. The tenants are certainly on the decline. Loud music blares almost constantly from neighbors in all directions. The parking lot is crowded with suspicious characters looming around the cars. Neighbors are not friendly and simply stare at you when you pass in your car or otherwise. I am starting my 3rd year at Carlton and it is shaping up to be a terrible one. I would not have renewed my lease had I known that my rent would increase by 25 dollars per month, but the office failed to mention that until signing day. The maintenance has always been pretty good, although I've had to have them come out and fix the same things about once every 2 months or so. Parking is ridiculous in front of my building. It may be because of the large crowds that seem to gather in the parking lot, but if you get off work anytime after 6 o'clock you will not find a spot near your building and will have a 5 minute walk to your apartment. On the positive note, the landscaping crew does a phenomenal job with the complex and it always looks fantastic until the inconsiderate tenants throw their garbage all over it. The management staff when I first moved in was fantastic and was a pleasure to deal with. Now they are rude and inconsiderate and seem to be extremely disorganized. Hopefully this will help people in their decision about whether or not to live here. It depends on what you're looking for. The grounds are excellent, and the maintenance is decent; but the tenants are of a questionable nature. A year from now I do not plan to renew my lease at Carlton.

i do agree with you on the resident's they are declining. Carlton is becoming more "ghetto" than I ever expected. Parking does suck and the grounds are beautiful except the laziness of the maintenance keeping up on them on the weekends. I do disagree with you on the staff. I think most of the staff is extremely friendly. the manager however doesn't seem to care about tenant issues. a couple of the leasing agents are wonderful. the "colored" manager is just like the property, rude and "ghetto". I am moving out next month, and am excited to move away from here.
