I moved into the carlton apartments two years ago. It was not as bad then but in the recent years it has gotten worse. The piles at the dumpsters have always been bad, and the ponds are discusting. I walk by the pond in the back wondering if they are ever going to pick up the kroger kart that someone pushed into the pond.
( Residents from the Carlton steal karts, then dump them when they're finished with them.) I know, what a bunch of low lifes huh. This past week I have seen the police here on two seperate occassions. About a month ago a crazy lady threatend me while walking down Plaza Dr. My 1 year old son was in the car. I used to feel at least safe here because before I would have never moved into a place ridden with crime. Now I do not feel safe. I cannot go on my evening walks any more. I also never feel safe pulling up late at night. There are always random people loitering around the complex waiting to break into your car. I am apualed at this ghetto. Not only do I not recomend Carlton apartments, I advise not living there for saftey reasons. Did I forget to mention that my apartment has been infested with pharro ants. The only good thing I can say about the place is my wonderful neihbors. But I got lucky

I want to comment on this. The ladies and maintance team at Carlton do their very best to do what they can to help their residents. They cannot control what kind of crime we have here in the Indianapolis area. Crime is all over and there is nothing any of us can do to prevent that. People think that it's just in Apartment communities but it is ALL OVER! I have had a pleasant time living here and have had no problems. My neighbors are great and so is the office staff. They have a wonderful/nice group of gentlemen working in the maintance division. This IS a nice place to live.

My, how quickly the management staff at Carlton responds to poor reviews...I lived there a couple years ago and it looks like things surely haven't changed. I'm glad I'm out of there!

I agree with you and I also live her and looking forward to moving out. But about your ant issuse I've had that problem at both Appartment complexes I've lived at. I buy ant traps each summer when I spot those little pests. I usually put them as close to my window, on patio and in my bathroom bc I always find them there. The traps last for 3 months and kill them off in 24 hours. A great investment of a few dollars.
