I lived at Chateau de Ville from 2004 to 2006. I am an ------- American woman. I lived with my child and my boyfriend. Whenever we went to the swimming pool, everyone "clutched their pearls". They act as if black people are not supposed to go swimming there. The office staff was rude. They acted as if they were more intelligent than anyone who set foot in the office. If they were smart, they would clean up all of the mold in their apartments. Everything is extremely outdated (appliances, windows, fixtures, etc.) The great thing about these apartments is that your heating and cooling costs were very low. These apartments are like caves. They were very well insulated. However, this is probably the reason why the mold is so prominent. It is not worth dying to live there. Also my cars were broken into twice. Nothing was done though we had a sheriff that lived nearby in the facility.

I recently renewed my lease a chateau. I also just went to the pool yesterday, and took my little sister. Her and two black boys played together the entire time. I have never seen the kind of hate there that you are describing. All the children played nicely together, and I sat next to the boys??? dad and chatted. I think that for the most part the neighbors are pleasant and friendly. In addition, I think the office staff is pretty friendly too. Maybe your apartment was different them mine, but my place certainly does not feel like a cave. Actually, it has really large windows, which I have had open constantly since the weather turned nice. I will agree that the appliances and even the pool are outdated, but they work just fine. I have never had a mold problem, but I also keep my personal living space very tidy. Plus, I think the insulation which is very good helps to keep moisture out when it is humid instead of contributing to it. I understand that car break-ins happen which is a shame. You say that nothing was done about it- did you call the police? And why did someone break into your car twice- did you leave something in it? I personally again have never had a problem, but I also make sure to keep any valuables out of my car.

In response to missmegs444 comment: When I said the apartments are like caves, that was a compliment to the property. In other words, I'm saying that the apartments are well insulated and the heating and cooling costs are low. Also, the apartment I lived in had mold within the walls. Several neighbors along the same street I live on also had mold. I also have pictures to prove this fact. The pictures come from my apartment along with 2 others. In regards to the break ins, I did not leave anything in my car except my CD case and loose change. The thieves took some CD's and all of my loose change. The police were called but did not do anything but go back to their donuts. Lastly, I'm glad YOU are not having a problem with the pool, but my daughter did. She is a sweet and very friendly kid. She would go and talk with the other children, then the parents would leave the pool area. Don't get me wrong. We still went to the pool. We weren't going to stop just because of someone's ignorance.

This makes me so sad. I originally came to the Chateau in 2005 with a roommate. We completely fell in love with the original designs of the apartments. They are not at all like caves. Every room has a view to a window, if not an actual window. How many apartments can boast this? During my time living there, I recommended that two of our friends move to the Chateau as well. They did and loved it. I also got a referal bonus for doing so!
When I moved out into my own place, I later recommended to my fiance to move here in effort to save money. His place here is much less expensive than his place in Castleton which was not much larger. He loves it and we're expanding into a two bedroom townhouse here after the wedding.
As far as treating any tennant differently than another because of color of skin?! This is absurd! My fiance's neighbors are ------- American, Indian, and Chinese. You could not ask for more friendly neighbors! We love them and have nothing but good things to say about tennants and their children. The pool is so safe! There is always an attendent there making sure that only renters of Chateau utilize the pool, keeping creepies who victimize children and other safety hazards OUT. I would think that "Former Tennant" might be more concerned about her children's safety than anything. As a renter, you could not ask for a better place. This is why we keep returning. It's truly a great place!

Both missmegs444 and lspring01 are idiots! For the THIRD time now, this tentant was trying to compliment the apartments by saying they're like caves! (Well insulated, keeps out the heat in the summer, keeps out the cold in the winter!) You both are taking that statement much too literally! For god sakes, read something before you respond to it!

FROM FORMER TENANT/ANONYMOUS (THE SAME PERSON):
Let me guess... The Anonymous from 03/27/2009 is caucasian. First of all I would like to tell everyone a little about me. Chateau De Ville is the only apartment complex I have ever lived in which I felt discriminated against. I have lived in 5 other complexes and have never had a problem like this. Does this sound like the issue is me or Chateau De Ville? If I were an intelligent person, I would guess the later. I am aware that the property management personnel read and respond to these opinions about their property in order to keep their ratings high. I am also aware that some properties are willing to fudge the truth. I am telling my truth and my opinion about this property. That is what this web forum is designed for. Also if you are not a minority, you should not be responding to this opinion. You can not know a "man" until you've walked a mile in "his" shoes. So all caucasian responses would be pointless. You have no idea what we as --------americans go through. Not saying that I do not respect your opinion. You opinion is valid. However, if you have no idea where I am coming from, how can you respond. I understand if you are from the office - you are trying to keep your ratings up. But, if you are a tenant and truly not a racist, would this raise a concern for you?

5 other Apartments uuuum!!!!! I am a tennant of Chateau De Ville I live on Rue Voltaire the back gate. I've walked in your shoes and have NOT been treated as your stating, again my neighbors are great and the office staff are very friendly and intelligent. Your issues are just that, your issues, but I see you can't let the past be the past thus your still complaining. Your right you do have an opinion that is valid for you as I have one that is valid for me we both lived at the apartment but had different experiences yours you say was bad while mine has been the opposite it's been great. I wish you nothing but the best in the future. I will let people make there own decisions about the apartments nothing in this life is a guarantee but Gods love towards us!!!!!!!!!!!
