I have lived in the Chateau In The Woods apartments for 2 1/2 years and can tell you that I will not be renewing my lease this year and cannot begin to recommend this complex to anyone. The units are far overpriced for what they are. Some time ago, the complex was acquired by a new owner who set to trying to make the place look better, but focused more on the outside than where people actually live. In his efforts, he removed all the foliage that lined the property. While you can clearly see it from Kessler and Allisonville now, inside the complex, the road noise is unreal. Add to this that during my tenure here, they have taken away the basement storage, the snow removal service has gone away, and they released some rules for the parking lot. Some of these include:
No backing into spots
No wrecked vehicles
No vehicles with excessive rust
The list does go on. While one might be able to see why these rules exist, being in Indiana, rust on a vehicle is nearly unavoidable. On top of this, some times, I have a trunk full of groceries and need to back in to unload. There is no good reason for me to have to get back into my car and turn it around.
Some of the new rules and practices here are unreal. My advice to anyone is to go to a newer complex where the amenities are far nicer and the owner doesn't force absurd rules on its tenants.
