I am a 23 year old woman and from my experience living here for a year, I would definitely NOT recommend these apartments to anyone. I do not feel safe at all..So many things have happened here to make my stay unenjoyable to say the least...
Some examples: I heard gunshots being fired at night outside my bedroom window numerous times. I had rocks thrown threw my bedroom window 2 nights in a row. Most recently, I had my car broken into and all my CD's stolen out of it. The apartments themselves are falling apart. The baseboards are eroding away, looks like termites. My closet doors dont even slide anymore, and the closet door has fallen off the hinge its so old and rusty! I have had an infestion of ants twice, once in my kitchen and once in my living room and everyday it seems I have to kill a spider! Also, the heat AND air conditioning has broken and a water pipe has burst in my bathroom ceiling. The maintenance is poor and when I called to report the problem, they're often slow to respond. It took them 2 days to fix the broken window(I finally had to call them AGAIN around 1 a.m. when it started to downpour and get inside!) WHen they came to fix the water pipe, they left a dent in my bedroom door from who knows what.
I also witnessed a helicopter circling the apartment complex as I was leaving one night, with its spotlight out apparently "searching for someone". Its also not uncommon to see 3 or 4 cop cars sitting at the front, or handling a "disturbance"... There was also a rumored murdered that happened a few months ago, with a fire to cover it up. That apt.fire was only 2 buildings down from me. I definitely do not feel safe, after all this, and especially after I had a creepy looking guy follow me into the parking lot. I ended up staying at a friends house b/c I was too afraid to get out of my car.
Forget about the nice fitness center they offer...most of the equipment is dirty, and out of 4 treadmills, only 1 works. About parking.. I myself can find parking alright...what's annoying is the other people who can't seem to find a space, so they park in the street, on the side of road, wherever they want, making it hard to drive through to get to your apt. Also, there is an overabundance of young kids who run freely through the streets...in herds or gangs even. When I was shown the apartment, it was in winter, apparently when they were all in hibernation. In spring/summer, watch out. They have no respect at all and choose to play in the road. This apartment complex is very "ghetto" for lack of a better word. Most of the people here look they're right out of a 50 Cent video.
They staff is also very rude and they make it seem like its your fault if something happens to your apartment. Everthing looks ok on the outside, but once you start living here, everything goes downhill. Of course they advertise great specials, how else are they going to get people to sign here' I am definitely not re-signing a lease, I wanted to break my lease early even! Take a close look to see who your neighbors are going to be... scary!! Do not sign here if you want to feel safe in your home.
