I moved to the Cottages at the end of January and it has been hell ever since. I am a single mother of two and pay $700 for rent. Besides the obvious murders and robberies, people come knocking on my door between the hours of 10 and 2 a.m. When I come home from work its kids standing around my front porch area. People sitting and leaning on my truck. At night its cars doing donuts and bumping music. All kinds of pitbulls walking around the neighborhod like poodles. When I moved in and requested the maintenance to clean my back patio. The previous tenant left piles of and sand and trash back there. And the crap is still there and now i have weeds growing taller than my building. It took them a whole week 2 come and fix my garbage disposal! And like i said the murders and robberies is what really put the icing on the cake. Prayers go out to all the victims and their family and friends.
Well there is a happy ending 2 my story. I started apartment hunting about a month ago and just didnt put Cottages on my application and I got approved. I moved out a week ago and plan on turning my keys in soon. Like management is telling else it will be $1000 to break my lease. Well like i said i am a single parent of 2 kids and i just dont have $1000 like that. I believe my kids safety is more important than to worry about me breaking a lease and it being on my credit. I just moved in 6 months ago and will not stay another day. It got so crazy I stopped going home and started staying the night with my parents. I now live in some wonderful apartments and I thank GOD every day I got out. I'm not saying every place is perfect but I will say Cottages is Hell on Earth.
