My husband and I moved into the Cottages in December of 2005 while I was 3 months pregnant with our first child. Our townhome was large, comfortable, and very attractive, not to mention INEXPENSIVE. The staff was friendly, and any maintenance issues we had seemed to be repaired the same day. We loved it there, and felt that we chose a clean safe place to bring our daughter home to.

However, the summer months came, and one morning in July when I woke up at 5am to feed my 1-month old baby, I turned on the news and saw MY APARTMENTS in a breaking story involving the murder of a woman in her home, just the next street over from me. As the story evovled over the next few days, we learned that the woman's 13 year old live-in grand-daughter had set her up for MURDER to cash in on her insurance policy!!!! After that, it was one thing after another. Our vehicles were broken into, as well as our neighbors. The apartment buildings behind my townhome had at least 10 police cars and a paddy wagon surrounding the area at least once every 2 weeks. (And this was viewable from my daughter's bedroom window.) I recall one night in August being awoken by three gun shots and squealing tires at 3am. I was TERRIFIED!

I would NOT recommend ANYONE to live here, ESPECIALLY if you have children of ANY age!!!

Oh kiss my @$$! I REALIZE this sort of thing happens everywhere. I did NOT want to live in a place like this because I have some common sense and don't run around like a hoodlum shooting gunshots into the air at 3am, nor do I have the cops called to my house every week. I am a respectable person trying to raise a respectable family in a SAFE environment, and this is not one! Yes, this type of violence happens everywhere, but wouldn't you like to know that as soon as I moved away, in my new neighborhood I never ONCE heard a siren of any kind? No one on my street ever had cops in their driveway. We could leave our car doors unlocked- hell even our FRONT DOORS unlocked at night and feel safe! And gunshots... what gunshots? There are nice safe places to live, so don't tell me to wake up from my dream world. You can stay in the ghetto if you like, but I'm better than that.

No, you CAN'T get that everywhere.. you only get that in places where ghetto, dirty, trashy, uneducated people live. PP #1 is WRONG. Not every apartment complex has people getting murdered in it, especially not by their 13 year olds. If you really think that's what life is about, you should probably just kill yourself.
