The apartments are fairly nice looking from the outside, but not safe at all. The management staff and maintenance are clearly mentally handicapped, especially managament. From move in day this apartment complex was a disaster. They told me to come by at 5pm on Sunday to pick up my keys. They even had it in writing that my appointment was at that time. When I arrived at 5, I discovered that the office closed at 4pm on Sundays. I called the emergency maintenance line, who called the apartment manager, who finally showed up and said that I obviously had heard the leasing agent incorrectly. I showed her the paper with the time on it and she said that I still must have made a mistake. When I finally moved in the carpet had several splotches of neon colored paint in the living and bedrooms. The bathroom tile around the toilet had mold growing from it and was cracked up. I told the office to fix the mold immediately as it was not a safe environment. They had a maintenance guy come and scrape the mold off the floor, but not to fix the problem. After I photographed the toilet base 2 weeks later when the mold reappeared and took the pictures to the office and threatened to call the health department they had someone come out and take up the tile from around the toilet and install a new seal into the floor. A great repair, but unfortunately they forgot to put the toilet back on the floor. The crew left it in the bathtub and left. After I yelled at the office they had someone come back out that day and re-install the toilet. Two weeks later, I still had no tile around my toilet because they forgot to put new tile down too. Finally that was resolved and I thought everything would be great. I received a letter from the office about a week after saying that I owed a bunch of money because my rent was late even though i paid it on the first of the month. I went to the office and they said that I owed more than I paid on the first. I said OK, and went ahead and paid the extra amount. The next month I got another letter that said I owed a ton of money and that I paid the wrong amount again. This time I got out my lease and took it to the office with me. I showed them the amount listed on it and they refunded my extra money that I had paid and agreed to not send more letters. I got another letter the following week of the same nature and went into the office screaming because I was furious. After that day they sent no more letters telling me my rent was incorrect. In the winter time I came out into the dark, dark parking lot one morning to find my wife's car and my own broken into. We park underneath the street lamp, but unfortunately the lamp was burned out. I told that office that I would like to have the lamp replaced because it would make me feel more safe after the incident. 5 months later when I made the most excellent decision of moving out, the lamp still had not been replaced. I called the office every week and asked about it, and also wrote to the management company, but obviously they didn't care. It was among the best days of my life when I moved out of the courts of kensington. To any prospective tenants, you should know that you will be robbed if you live here. They will break into your cars and my neighbor told me that she came home once and found someone trying to break into her apartment. The leasing office will try to take extra money from you, and the maintenance crew is forgetful at best. Find another place to live

Everything you said is so very true. We have been going round and round with managment about a moldy window in the bedroom. We are going on 3 months with it still not being replaced. When I go in to ask about it, I often get snotty remarks from the manager about how their are other problems going on as well and I need to be patient. We have also had a car broken into. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They seem great at first but you soon realize they aren't.
