Might be getting better...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I've lived here since Sept. 2006. The manager who was here at that time was a total incompetent. She was loud and shouted back when you had a concern or complaint.
We had heavy snow fall in 2/07 and the plows didn't come until way late in the day. I had to push my car thru a drift so I could get to work. When I called the office to complain, she shouted back that "You shoulda just stayed home anyways! The guy we use is real busy with other driveways." I told her I didn't have the option to "just stay home" and didn't want to use a vacation day just because she hired a plow driver who took on too many customers. She just replied "Eh!"
When the snow began to melt, it froze and left several inches of ice all over the sidewalks. I called the office as I was leaving for work. The same manager said "We got people out now taking care of it" I could see no one putting salt down as I was driving thru the complex--and no one came. The ice went away because the snow melted it.
Any maintenance issues I've had have been taken care of promptly. When my A/C went out during the heat wave, one maintenance person told me the apt. owners have "let this place go to ----" and haven't been keeping up on it. The person said the managers didn't want to spend money on routine maintenance and even has a garage full of fuel efficient, brand new air conditioners which they won't use, but are going to sell. The maintenance person said he hoped to get them installed in the units here as he didn't think it was right the tenants we're getting treated like trash.
There were several months worth of billing errors. They kept saying I owed $18.00 for a gas bill from when I first moved in. However, the billing had been backdated to when I moved in. I explained this to the dimwit assistants and the manager, but they didn't even what to look at the proof I had from the gas company. I just paid it because they refused to accept my monthly rent until I paid the $18.00.
Also on the downside, there are several junkers here, all owned by some middleaged couple. They start them up once a month. With no exhaust, they roar to life and wake you up at 7am on a weekend morning.
Also, some other dude has a Navigator that's not moved in the 14 months I lived here. The city keeps ticketing the car for removal, but he just tears off the stickers and wipes the chalk off the wheels.
