Missing Cable Box

I moved into Darby Court under a corporate lease for 2 months. It was pricey for a small place, but I was pretty happy with the apartment's comfort and cleanliness. I am very upset that I am made to look like a liar because a cable box had gone missing. I moved to the apartment with the cable box already installed, and I left it at the same place when I moved out 2 months later. Apparently, the manager/supervisor went through the apartment before the cleaning/carpet people entered the unit, and she said that she never noticed the box. I am now being charged $750 for a box that I do not possess and had left at Darby's hands. I am very upset because I had spoken to Darby's personnel the day I left the unit, and she told me that they'd take care of it, that I had nothing to worry about. A few weeks went by and I realized that the cable company was still charging me for service, and then came another statement for the price of the box. If I don't have the box and neither does Darby, then who does''' If you ever decide to go to Darby under corporate lease and get cable, make sure to drop off the box at the cable company yourself!
